JUNE 2014 OUTLAND applicants

Hello All,

CIC has received my application for Sponsorship of my wife through OUTLAND process on June 13th 2014, but till today , we have not received Sponsorship approval.

ECas shows CIC received our application on June 13th and medical has been received.

We call them on weekly basis and they have 1 statement that `Your application is under process`. . .

We have clarified with CIC agents if they require additional documents or missing information but they said everything is OK and file is under process.

They have issued me a new UCI number and CIC agents said there is no problem if you got new UCI.

Can some one let us know why there is a long delay in Sponsorship ? Please Help us ...

From what I've seen on this forum, the biggest source of delay in approving sponsorship (when all of the documentation required was provided up front) is background checks. Apparently there can be wide variation in the response time for CIC to get background check information from various countries/jurisdictions. If, on the other hand, you are applying from the US or UK and have spent no time living in other countries, I have no idea what might be behind the delay.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much movement with PR being issued in general, other than the Ottawa Office. As my visa office is London I very much doubt I'll hear anything before Christmas, going by the current timescales.

Hang in there, we'll all get there eventually!

canada1234 I am experiencing the same problem. My application was recieved on the 23 of junee up tp now still no updates. Jo one can give me any answers.







They have issued me a new UCI number and CIC agents said there is no problem if you got new UCI.

Hey Dee...I'm not holding up so well. The fact that it took 3 months for our paper to get to the VO abroad is really playing with my mind. I'm horrified to think that it could still take another 5-10 months. That seems to be the "Average" turnaround timeframe based on other people's real experiences. My hubby is my rock and it helps that we are going through it together but man I tell you, it's just hard to cope sometimes.

Hope you are holding up better than I am...and hope I feel better next week!!

File received on 15th June and we got feedback on 8september that file has been approved and file has been forwarded to visa Office Abroad.

But when I tried check our status using our credentils on the website ,it said " We were not able to identify you using the information you provided".

I have used UCI number and also the application number but still same "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided".

somebody knows what that means ???


And what next after file has been forwarded to visa office abroad??

well ours took a while too, it says application received June 3 but received at designated VO August 13 so you're not alone, let's just hope for the best slowly and surely is more acceptable than fast but denied..

I am still not able to check ecas with my uci # it took two weeks after my file was transferred to my VO office, before i was able to check using application #

Congratulations on getting Sponsorship Approval. Are you entering the UCI # for the Sponsor or the Applicant? I'm not sure if you are the Sponsor or the Applicant, but if you enter the Sponsor's UCI # and info, there's no reason why the system shouldn't be able to identify that...

After the file is forwarded to the visa office abroad, you WAIT You might get an acknowledgement or receipt from the visa office, but you might not- it depends on the office you are dealing with.

Agreed! How do you know for a fact that the designated VO received your application August 13th? Did the AOR 2 e-mail from the VO abroad specifically say that's when they received your package? Our e-mail from the VO abroad (Received Sept. 5th) was very confusing because it said they received our application on June 11th (that was the date I originally sent to Mississauga, so for them to state that still makes no sense to me). I guess I just have to assume that Step 2 starts as of Sept. 5th when the VO abroad sent us the e-mail. Sorry- ranting a little bit here!

for me i don't know when my Vo received our application in London, they don't send out AOR. my application was sent in April, then further documents was required for June 10th , my sponsorship was approved aug 5th and the lady who called me said she was sending my documents to London, but my ecas says June 10th so confusing.

Yeah, trying to be patient. CIC requested the Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union from us, along with two more photos. They received them a week ago today but, of course, we've heard nothing. Would love to know if someone is working on our file or if the additional documentation is just sitting in a pile somewhere. I suspect we won't know anything until ECAS is magically updated...
