My husband, the sponsor, just called the call centre (I called too but they wouldn't tell me anything), the agent was like "you got approved yesterday, they sent it by mail"! And they told him my file had been transfered to the VO as well. We just didn't know about it, I suggest people call too...

Congrats on your SA!! It's such a relief when you finally get it...you know you are halfway there!

no. it's a government agency. only open m-f. though, ecas status' do change on the weekend. mine did, so i'm not sure how that works. There's also the possibility it changed on that friday, and i only noticed it on the weekend.

so when in called the cic earlier i got my uci from the agent. now that i checked online it says decion made on my sponsorship application and that they sent me a mail by post earlier this week. i guess i'm on the same boat as lellen but the agent still told me give it a week or two. wouldn't he have seen the decision on their screen.. i guess they just want to give me grief. and now to wait for the mail. i feel i can breathe a little easier now.

I just called in to find out about my application.. It hasn't been approved yet but they gave me my client ID number. Hopefully I'll hear something soon!

it depends on your visa office. most don't send AOR2, so there's no confirmation it gets there. some people believe if you can check your status and you see medical results received, that means your visa office received the file. i don't know if this is accurate. i assume everyone's application gets entered into the system the same way, and it's not an indicator of your file making it to your visa office. for most applicants, the only way they know for sure is when the visa office sends a request for more information or their passport. for most, it's just hope and a prayer.

I called this morning as well. Got my UCI number and was told by the agent that it's been approved. I checked application status online, however, it only says that it was received. I guess it hasn't been updated.

Does this get transferred to Ottawa now or my husband's hometown of Detroit (that's what we chose as interview location preference).

Your file will be transferred to Ottawa. The Detroit office is closed. The only location for interviews is L.A. but it is very unlikely that you will require an interview, My husband (U.S.) citizen has just been approved. It only took 3 mths

Oh, thank you for clarifying. They haven't updated their forms then? There was a choice of interview location when we submitted ours. Really hoping there isn't an interview. Don't really want to go to LA. He has no dependants, no criminal record, and he's lived in one place his entire life so I am sure it should be smooth sailing.
