So rhcohen, we have already applied for file from Mississauga. So now what happen :( ? What time i can expect to be followed in this case?! :(

the file stays in mississauga until you hear about sponsorship approval, then it will be transferred to process your file. june applicants just started getting approvals for sponsors, and it's currently taking about 2 months. beyond that, i can not tell you specific time frames or what will happen with your file, as i do not process applications for cic.

Thanks nyways for info.

I applied for my outland spouse sponsorship in May & didn't hear anything from CIC. I called them today and were informed they have sent out an email but they have a wrong email address for me, so for sure it was not delivered. I checked online status for spouse sponsorship & it says DECISION MADE. What do you mean by DECISION MADE as this is first step HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?? Very worried, please help

It was probably the sponsorship approval.

I didn't have a current Option C either as I have been in the U.S. for 5 yrs. I did however request the last one on file and included it with a copy of my U.S. tax return and 12 mths of pay stubs. CIC just wants to make sure you are not on welfare
We received our Decision Made in 3 mths

Similar to my situation. No Canadian income in the last 6 years. I showed proof of my foreign income for the past 12 months (unofficial bank statements showing deposits made + letter from employer). Also provided a copy of my most recent Option C which was from 2008. Sent a copy of my job offer too.

Hello forum mates, when CIC says you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor, does it mean sponsorship approved? My representative said it is not sponsorship approval yet. huhuhuhuhu im confused. Please advise me....

yes, that's what we call sponsorship approval. congrats! the notification about sponsor eligibility would have confirmed which visa office the application is being transferred to.

Perhaps what your representative is referring to is that technically CIC doesn't necessarily "finalize" sponsor approval until the PR application is completely approved. So i'm not sure if your representative doesn't know what he is talking about, or if he just doesn't understand how the term is used on this forum.

If he seems to think there is another step besides the sponsor being found eligible and the processing of the applicant's application, then i would recommend not having that person as your representative. The real question is what does your representative consider "sponsorship approval" and when does he think it happens?

Thanks a lot, I feel a lot better now. I had a mix up with my taxes as I filed myself wrongly for 2013 as a non-resident when actually I still was and it has been a very long time communication-wise to figure it all out. But I included letters with the CRA and my current paystubs of my work in here in Belgium for the last 12 months also.

Onto another topic, I am sponsoring my Belgian partner and we were wondering that if her visa application is approved, will she be able to visit the US (or travel elsewhere in general for vacation)? I only ask because back in Canada, I had a friend from the Philippines who wasn't able to enter the US because of her visa but I have forgotten all the details. (Also during a period of my application to stay in Belgium, I wasn't allowed to leave the country).

Oh and WHOA my eyes bugged when I saw that it took you ONLY 3 MONTHS for approval!!! :o Congratulations!!!!

generally, i belive the traveler needs to apply for a visitor visa for the US if they are not visa exempt. Having a visa to visit canada doesn't give someone authority to travel to the us. They are completely seperate from eachother, as they are different countries. my guess is your friend did not obtain a visa for the US and was not allowed in because of that.

Hi guys so nothing had hear from cic since last 4 days for SA!! Also today no update on cic website as I generally heard that cic updates on every tuesday....
