Do you know if we can have 2 CEC applications like this?

yes for sure but at some point one has to be canceled, I will do some further reading.

Express entry applicants are getting PPRs a month and half after their ITA (invitation to apply). Who knows we may still be better off applying under express entry rather than waiting for this incredibly slow system.

It's certainly an option worth looking into, but clearly we need more information... for me i need to know if i need to retake the medical exam (mine was done January 30, 2014) and fees for EE

I don't think we need to do the medical exam again. Mine was done on 26th Jan 2015. It should be valid for a year i believe. The right to permanent resident fee should be refunded from old system in case we withdraw that application. The fee would be $550 to file Express entry application and $490 RPRF. I just checked it.

ok great!

correction - meds done January 29, 2015

True that EE is much faster in general. But I noticed similar chaos are also occurring within EE processing.
Some Aug EE applicants got PPR in less than two months, but some March and April applicants are still waiting (just like us ;)). No surprise cuz it's a different system run by the same douchebag.

see: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/those-who-waiting-express-entry-in-six-months-and-not-finalized-t317706.105.html

Not to suggest avoid taking EE but just be prepared for the risk of doubling the fees, hassle, frustration, and anger.

TO add, if we are living in Canada...we will have to go back to our country to get the education evaluated...Degrees have to be sent in a sealed envelope to WES....Plus all the certificates like PCC, transaltions, IELTS Score Card etc etc.....needs to be done again...which atleast for me would take atleast 2 - 3 months...then apply....wait for the draw....get the ITA...wait for another couple of months....

All valid points... perhaps not worth the effort, thanks ;D

some of it is true and some of it is not.. like i do not need to do any WES equivalency as I am not claiming any points for my MBA from back home.. (I have 460 points and got 4 ITAs so far.. all rejected).. yes it holds true for Police certificate which will be the only hassle for me i guess... i already have IELTS score card scans from CEC which i could have used for EE.. but i just didnt feel right spending another $1500-2000 for this whole process..

it comes down to what information you are providing and for what fields u r claiming points for.. like im not claiming any points for my spouse education, English language etc as i didn't wanna waste another $1000 to get her equivalency and ask her to take IELTS etc to make my score above 500 when i already know any score above 450 will get me an ITA..had i gotten those done yes it would hv easily taken me 4-6 months to get all that done.

You're from a visa-exempt country so you shouldn't be asked to send your passport. My understanding is that now you should be receiving your CoPR in the post.

Congrats!

Wohooo this is great news after all this time.
Good luck to all still waiting.

True say....its case to case. I don't need any education evaluation and police certificates because I came here before I was 18. I also have an additional copy of my IELTS results becuase I requested two copies of the results when I appeared for the test a year ago. It will cost $550 extra if I do decide to go this route but the only issue is my points are only 440. To bump the points up I will have to do IELTS again and get a little better score. In my last attempt at IELTS I was very ignorant and didn't care about the result as much becuase I only needed a score of 6 for CEC at that time. Seems like 7.5 is not enough for CIC; for us to be able to communicate effectively.
