That's why the estimated processing time is useless with the word "average". I didn't trust that at all from day one. Even if it's a true statistics and not a random number they throw up on there, it is one of their naive tricks to cheat. Some elementary school math here for example:

Applicant A's case took 8 months
Applicant B's case took 15 months
Applicant C's case took 16 months
Applicant D's case took 17 months

The result: 8+15+16+17=56, then 56/4=14 months

Means that by giving priority to only 25% of cases (A) and delaying the rest 75% (B,C,D), the average doesn't look as bad. With the power of average plus the 80% buffer (they can exclude the most delayed 20% obviously), they now got much more time for making delays and still generate a still okay statistics.

Examples could have gone more dramatic. Put it another way: one billionaire and 99 homeless people, on average, 100 millionaires :o

So you can see, even if our cases are delayed several more months, the average 80% processing time could still stay as 14 or 15 months.

thanks for the analysis, so by month 16/ 17 (which is actually October/ November) the rest of us should be finalized?

I am june 9th applicant, I could see only 3 lines in my ECAS. is any one on the same situation or just only me.

me too. my time line is on the left. i have three lines as

1. We received your application for permanent residence on June 13, 2014
2. We started processing your application on July 28, 2014.
3. We sent you correspondence on August 5, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

The 3rd line was to submit new RCMP since the RCMP one my file is expired.
I am still waiting for PPR

whats the hack is that.. why they are taking that much time..if they don't want us than say directly, no need to waist our time.. thats very unfair with us, when they work on EE application then why not our application... thanks CIC for making our life miserable...$ @ #$ @

I hope some of us will have the luck, but realistically unlikely to happen to all of us unfortunately.

My only wish is they complete EE quota toward the end of the year and give more attention back to CEC backlog (and also don't skip June files). What if they choose to move on with 2016 EE cases by the time and still work as it is now, like 2 or 3 PPRs a month...

To be honest, I feel we sort of deserve the delay. Megan Batchelor from CBC News hopes to interview one of the victims and publish an article about the unfair process.

HOWEVER, nobody in Vancouver plans to participate in the interview. All the people are waiting for a free ride. It's ourselvies who don't care. Why should we blame CIC?

Sorry, guys, this is my true feeling and I am preparing EE now.

I don't think that she really wants to make this news. Otherwise there are lots of options available. If you feel that nobody is going from BC, why not you are offering her.. this is a modern ear, she can take your (or any one) interview through webcam..
you you think that is the real chance than you can suggest her this way.. in that case she will get lots of faces for her show

She was looking for stories about how the delay affected the applicant. Personally I don't have the problems as she mentioned: job loss, implied status, etc. directly caused by the delay. But that doesn't mean I wasn't affected. I already sent her a long letter explaining our situation and so did you as I know. What else can we do, what else can we say. We don't actually know how determined she was on the issue and honestly CIC won't even care even if she reported. No one to blame my friend except CIC.

How do you know I don't offer? She needs real person showing up in front of the camera. Each company has its own way to work. Why should I force her to take the "modern" way? We are the people who need our stories be heard. Not her.

I feel that's fairly short sighted - to say we are to blame, and deserve the delay? So if Megan hadn't come along - you still think CIC aren't accountable? I wouldn't say anyone is expecting a free ride?! If you feel strongly maybe you should reach out to seek the CBC contact in your own area to arrange a personal interview and have a media story. Many of us have gone ahead and made plans to forward our own particular cases - we do what we feel is appropriate and comfortable for us. I think your take on this is the last thing we need or want to hear.
Good luck with your EE application.

can we send email to cic by personal email? if we have application by lawyer?

I think you can for sure. You are the applicant and always have the right to inquire about your own case.

I have requested for gcms notes. i also called cic today and the call center agent looked to my file and said they are waiting for my medical result to be updated. and it normally takes 3-4 months it seems. he informed that my son's and my wifes medical results has been received. i donot understand why my medical is getting delayed where as all the medicals done on the same day with the same doctor and result sent to cic on the same day. any one can explain?

Hello Guys,

Yesterday, i completed my 14 months and I called CIC and agent told me that my background check just finished on Oct 04, and everything is looks good. So wait this month. After that I also got an email from Local Mp state that "All eligibilities are passed for your file and it is in its final stage. It is ready for visa and passport will be requested from you shortly. We were advised that your file is expected to be finalized within a month." and today I just received the passport request at 11:06pm. Finally after long wait time of 16 months!!! So guys hope for the best..Going to send my passport tomorrow morning..Good luck!!! :) :)
