I know it's most likely complete coincidence with lots of June applicants getting a 3rd line now ... And who knows - things might be static again now for a little while, but I like to think it was our emails we sent ;)

I'd like to think too :), the scale of updates is rarely seen, and they seemed to have got some drive to do so for most June 1st review people all at once even if it's just adding a single line. But honestly not sure what's really going on.

Now, if these updates are just for fun by Cic then for us its more hard to determine when they have started processing our files. :(

"Just for fun", "fooling around with us"... everyone now grows to be more skeptical and mature than the naive babies 14 months ago, LOL.

Yeah ... I'm not holding my breath - but must be positive. Not to say this next bit will necessarily speed up - but at least something has been touched/updated. And it's not a blanket date - we all have different. Still not sure as to why it's 2014? Oh well ... Roll on RFPR/PPR/COPR for us all

Hi I am an August applicant, my status was also updated with "we started to process your case on XXXX" by the AOR receiving date. I also see similar situation from October forum, so maybe CIC just added this line automatically for all unprocessed cases in order to comfort us

Did any of you guys applied on June 30th, got medical request or any update from CIC?

Yup this is where im at so far:

We received your application for permanent residence on June 27, 2014.
We started processing your application on July 30, 2015.
I got a request for medicals on July 31 2015.
Did my medical exam yesterday (August 13 2015)

Hope this helps...

Question for everyone:
I know that the next step for me is sending in my passport but does anyone know the time frame that i should expect?

I only ask as i am planning on going back to Australia (home) for 3 weeks in October and if the ask for this is will either mess up my trip or my residency application. I have called the passport office in Aus and they said i can only have one passport at a time. So getting an extra or spare passport is not an option.
I guess my only options are to come back to Canada early to send my passport in time to CIC
or
to cancel my trip if they need it before October...

Anyone have any ideas or thoughts? Should i call or email CIC and give them the dates of my trip..?

My application was filed June 9th, AOR July 21st and Medical request Jan 22nd 2015. Submitted and passed the medical.

I still have the two lines on my ecas though (just checked today). I called cic and they said processing time starts from the date that the file was transferred to Ottawa which was August 5, 2014. So I was told to check back again after September 5 if I hear nothing back.

My current visa is due to expire next month and my BOWP was submitted end of May. Am just praying that I get either one before my visa expires!

I know it will be worth it in the end but the waiting is quite stressful.

You will have one month time to send your passport for stamping. I can think of below two scenarios for you.

Let us say if you are travelling on Oct 1st 2015. (you didn't share your travel date)

Scenario 1: If you receive a PPR two two weeks before your travel then you will have enough time to send your passport and receive it back with visa. YOU ARE GOOD TO TRAVEL.

Scenario 1: If you receive PPR just before your travel then just go to your country for three weeks vacation and send your passport for stamping after you come back. YOU ARE GOOD TO TRAVEL.

One more thing is, I think, Australia is a visa exempt country and I doubt, if you need to send your passport for stamping. You just need a flag polling which you can do while coming back from Australia.

I just advised based on my knowledge. Highly advise, wait for someone else in the forum to confirm my comments.

No need to worry. All is well...

Forum has been quite from early afternoon, I guess folks are celebrating their ECAS 3rd line update. ;D

I also got third line update. My AOR date was August 13,2014

We received your application for permanent residence on June 26, 2014.
We started processing your application on August 14, 2014.
Medical results have been received.

We're still in shock and it's going to take us time to recover. We got no information from CIC for so long even an automated update is too much for us to handle.

Hey Everyone,

I'm June 10th applicant, AOR July 29th. Nothing heard from CIC after AOR date. No MR request.

I just checked status on CIC website. It shows the 2nd line "We started processing your application on July 29, 2014".

I don't know when this line was updated there. I still do not have MR request yet.

Does anyone know what this means?
