I did it a couple days ago and got a generic standard reply. Highly doubt it helps but doesn't cost anything to do it.

Let's finalize the letter to send it to immigration minister by Aug 1st week, we need to do something otherwise our applications will never be touched by any VO.

Yesterday I spoke with call center agent and she told me that she has sent a note to VO to take a decision on my file, not sure it will work out. Also she told me that everything seems to be fine on my file.

I was thinking about 1st week Aug too. That agent was nice, seems like some female agents are not as rude as male. Let's see if that works.

I agree with you. I call on 18 july. Agent is female so nice, Good listener. Now I got Status change. May be she send note to VO....

I sent my application EXACTLY 13 months ago (24-Jun-2014).

HI,

I just called CIC call center, got nice Female agent, she thoroughly checked my file and inform that as my file is past due date, she is sending note to VO for the updates on why the file is delayed, for the update she confirmed that i should see some update online on ECAS. Hope its good sign and help in some way.
