Not that I have any useful thing to share. But I thought it may keeps us in check of the situation.
I E mail my MP on Monday, and here is what I received:
Dear Mr. McKinnon,
Wishing you a happy new year.
Regarding our previous discussion, I hope you could help me with my immigration application that has been abnormally put on hold for so long. Call center agents have been really rude recently. As soon as we 2014 applicants mention that we are 2014 CEC applications, they did not even bother to check the status, each agent just randomly set up a date for us to call back (the end of December, Jan, Feb, May,...). There are articles from Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Forbes,.... mention about this problem and how bad it has affecting us skill worker class.
Finishing the backlog is also one of many promises that our Prime Minister had promised us in his campaign.
Thank you,
Hi ###,
We are of course working on the backlog problem. We’ve only been in office very briefly, however, and it will unfortunately take more time to make the changes in this (and other areas) that are needed to start turning things around.
I understand your frustration, and that ‘more time,' is not something you want to hear. I am copying this to my parliamentary email address so that office staff has visibility of it, and I ask them to see what can be done to move things along.
Regards,
Ron
