Hi All,

Just received the CPR from CIC and planning to land soon.
I have a doubt in getting PR card.

As new permanent resident of Canada, do we get PR cards automatically sent to the communication address given as part of immigration process. (It is mentioned in the CIC website) or we have to apply for each of our family members on our own.

Can anyone advice.

When did you send your passport ? How long does it take to get the passport back from ottawa ?

Hi Karthi44,

First of all congrats for receiving COPR. To answer your question, No you do not have to apply for PR card. It is part of the Landing process. They will ask you for your address in canada and instruct you to wait for 6-8 weeks to receive your PR card.

Sending my Passport today as I have to send new Photos for myself and my dependents.

Congrats!!! Definitely a nice Christmas present to get!

I rang cic this morning and was told that my COPR document was mailed (standard mail) to my home address December 17th. I also got the rprf request on the same day but emailed them straightaway with the receipt.
I'm hoping I get it before the Christmas rush. But seeing as I waited 18 months, I think I can wait another few days.

Hi,

Received Ready for Visa mail 3 hours back.However ECAS status shows 'In Process'.

Just one question,I applied when I was in Canada and after that I have shifted to India.My mailing and residing address in ECAS profile shows Indian address.
In ready for visa mail they are asking passports to be sent to Canadian address...?
Should I send it to Canadian address or ask them for Indian embassy address??

Can people who had or are in similar situation help me in this confusion pls?
