I emailed CIC about 2 weeks ago for an update on the application and this is their response:

Thank you for your email.

The processing of your file is following its due course.

Please note that the processing times for permanent residence applications within the Canadian Experience class category are of an average of 15 months.

An officer will contact you if further information is required. Please ensure when submitting documents that they are still valid and will not expire within 6 months as this could delay your application.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum. In order to process requests efficiently, we will not be responding to duplicate requests.

Wonder why they haven't changed the processing time on their website. Slowest process ever!

Hi how long it took for you to receive your pp back? Im waiting for mine. Where did u land? If at niagara fall, can you share your experience? I intent to land there too

My pp reached CIC on 5th, return tracker got activated on 14th, and I received it on 17th and landed the same day at St. Stephen, NB. The whole process was pretty simple really, and since we were the only people there everything took around half an hour.

No Wonder they haven't changed the processing time in their website as the note above the processing time says "This information is updated quarterly and shows the time it takes to process an application after we receive a complete application package based on 80 percent of all cases finalized between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015. Processing times are subject to change."

Most of us have already completed 14 and half months and should have got some news already. CIC Wakeup!

Once you get decision made, you just have to wait a few more months to get PPR! so frustrating...

My online status shows third line as below,
1. We received your application for permanent residence on June 17, 2014.
2. We started processing your application on August 5, 2014.
3. We sent you medical instructions on August 7, 2015 to XXXX - XXXX Rue XXXXXXXX, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, XXX XXX. To avoid delays,
please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If
we have sent the correspondence to the wrong address, please contact us.

On 7th Aug received my medical request for me and my wife. We have completed my medical request on 15th Aug 2015 [myself – medical completed, for my wife medical completed except x-ray since she is pregnant]

On 18th Aug received my RPRF request [Email content]:

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

Ø > RPRF: Pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee. This must be received at this office by: 2015/09/18
Ø > Client Information: Our office is requesting your actual immigration status in Canada. This must be received at this office by: 2015/09/18

Please clarify my below questions,

1) 3rd line which is reflected in online.. isn't normal ? I have changed my India address on Jun'15 after that also why they are sending to Canada address.. Do i need to inform CIC?
2) Do I need to inform about my wife medical status – since her x-ray is not complete? Email : CPC-CTD-Ottawa @ cic.gc.ca
3) RPRF –
a. I have paid my RPRF – it's was deducted during my initial fee reduction [2080$] - Application for permanent residence on 5th Aug 2015.
[2080$ = 550*2 + 490*2]. Do I need to inform with receipt number right?
b. Client Information: Our office is requesting your actual immigration status in Canada. What is this about? Anyone received before?
Currently i am not in Canada.


Please comment... Help required.

1) You got the MR via email, just use that.
2) Yes.
3) a. You need to email your receipt as explained in the RPRF request.
b. Send them a note stating when you left Canada, your current address and when you moved there, and when your last Canadian visa/wp/sp ran out. They are checking if you are an overstayer because your address wasn't properly updated.

Hello adwin,

I received response in 1 week, after I sent email to change visa stamping country to India. I submitted the documents in VFS Canada office, they sent to Delhi. I submitted my & family passports, 2 photos of each member & email print.

I just received my PPR. Is anyone know that it is possible to request for extension to submit my passport. I have planned to travel to Europe on September. Is it possible that I request to submit my passport after my return of my trip? Did anyone have the same situation before?

How awkward! Checking this morning CIC processing time... taa taa its 14 months... and not 15 like the email response I got 2 day ago.
