    Administrative Refusal US border flagpoling

Don't take anyone with you for flag pole, go alone! Canadian citizens cannot do flag pole, so US border will ask your friend to withdraw his application, which is an actual refusal of entry. This happened to someone I know, and after that every time he travels, they ask him about the reason of...

Avoid flag pole unless you have no other option

Last week I did my landing on border via flag pole, with a horrible experience as I predicted. I went with my Indian friend who also wanted to land as PR. My Indian friend got his administrative refusal for flag pole in 2 minutes without any further questioning. In my case, it took a few...

Use US Visitor Visa OR Administrative Refusal for Landing?

One more thing, if someone is accompanying you at border (even visa-exempt), they won't give them Administrative Refusal, they will issue "withdrawal" form to those individuals accompanying you. So if you decided to do flag polling, do it alone to be safe.

Use US Visitor Visa OR Administrative Refusal for Landing?

At US border, you can be rejected or refused in 3 ways: 1- Visa rejection or cancellation 2- Withdrawal of entry 3- Administrative Refusal (Under various US law sections) Flag Poling is NOT a refusal of visa, and is NOT Withdrawal, it is an "Administrative Refusal". One example (other than flag...

Use US Visitor Visa OR Administrative Refusal for Landing?

People go for flag poling because it is their last chance (e.g. No time to get a visa, saving, or home country is too far...) If you have a visa, why not use it? Administrative Refusal remains in system forever, and you have to tick it and explain it with every application that asks you. US...

    July - 2014 Applications

A strong letter is only beneficial to someone who did not provide an appropriate letter at first stage. Many rejections I have seen after providing a second reference letter, was due to the fact that they tried to change the duties or NOC. A complete list of duties can't change and highly risky...

No, reverse! You don't choose A or B in forms, you just choose NOC. He thought he is level B and documents and IELTS were for Level B (duties and NOC matches level A). Then CIC reviews it, and says it is Level A. and your IELTS is not enough. so same situation.

    July - 2014 Applications

Since his selected NOC in forms was actually level A, and mistake was clear at first review, they returned his application after a few months (instead of AOR), and he had to apply again after a few months with proper docs. If the problem is not obvious from beginning, then it can take up to 15...

I don't know his duty list. He was not even in this NOC, but had a similar situation and thought he is level B.

That means an officer reviewed your file, your eligibility/criminality is probably passed, and you will go to the next stage.

    July - 2014 Applications

Did you choose NOC level A from beginning with IELTS results (all minimum 6)? I guess they are referring to technical QA (based on duties), which can be NOC 2171 for example. You can't change NOC. However, a technical officer should review it and decide if duties are still the one that you...

How long before should apply for WP extention

Are you referring to the old 30 days recommendation of CIC in FAQ (when the processing time was around 35 days not 112 days) ? Link for you: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/permit/extend/permanent.asp

How long before should apply for WP extention

Being in implied status is not fun. It's scary, some companies don't accept it at all. Insurance, etc. Average time of PR is now 15 months (13 months from AOR). So if you are among "average", your work permit will expire by then. Do the right thing now.
