I am so thrilled!!!

This morning I got my first e-mail from CIC: "This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2013/06/14". I am hoping that, just like Mariposa81, I will get another e-mail soon confirming my approval to sponsor my husband.

So yes, they do work on the files, and everything will be good for everyone, I am sure of it!!!

Awesome Thaliada!!! I sent all my documents to Quebec government yesterday. Not sure if it could be very helpful here, but anyway I'll keep you post Go-go-go SA now!!!

Yes, same day... maybe 6 hours between the 2 emails (aor and sa).

No worry, I think we all become a bit silly when it come to the waiting

I did not receive the SA email yet, but I am sure it's gonna be very soon. Also, I still get the message: "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:" when I enter my UCI... I'll just wait.

Ok, since this morning I can login with my client number...but there is no data. Simply my name appears... Well I consider this as a good news anyway, hehe! Probably I will be able to get information in the next few days as Wella mentionned.

Excitedly, I then immediately logged on to CIC website to check our application status and it says We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. and so so so.. Then after a couple of days I tried it again then I got it,, it says apps received. Try after a few days before checking your application status using your UCI no. I would advise you to send your application through recommended post, or courrier - whichever you prefer, but a method that allows you to track the package from the post office, as CIC will not send you a email or anything once it arrives there. So for your own peace of mind, you should trace it to CIC office when you send it.

Once CIC opens your package, they might send you an AOR ( acknowledgement of receipt), but not everybody gets one. Then you get the sponsor approval... both the AOR and the sponsor approval will have your file number and where to look for info on CIC website. For now, it's too early as you have not sent your application yet. You don't need to add any specific form.

As others have mentioned, the file number etc. is not active right away, it usually takes about 2 to 3 days for it to work. Then you can combine either the file number + applicant info (last name only, no first name, no initial), OR UCI (unique client identifier) + sponsor info.
