Visitor visa for my parents was applied in on July 2, 2024
Biometrics given both of them: July 22, 2024
I just checked that:
Biometrics for mother updated on July 22, 2024
Biometrics for father updated on Oct 24, 2024
Eligibility has completed for mother and father.

Does this mean that Ircc started with background check after Oct 24, 2024 as father's biometrics got updated on this day??

Any Updates from July 2024?
I applied for my FIL & MIL (tourism/temp visa) since July 23 from Venezuela, Only thing that has been updated is the Biometric.

Same here. My sister applied for VV on July 14th from Honduras and still nothing, just biometrics. It has passed the processing times posted in Canada's website.

It did take her like 3 weeks to provide biometrics. Do processing times start counting from the application date or from the date that biometrics were provided?

Most processing from latin america has been slow i have noticed. My FIL & MIL did their Biometrics in august because of VAC was closed due to the elections.

From the website IRCC this is what it say:

This processing time tells you how long it took us to process most complete applications in the past.

It does not include

  • the time it takes to send an application between a visa application centre and our office
  • the time you need to give your biometrics
Your processing time starts the day we receive your complete application and ends when we make a decision. It may vary depending on how many applications we get or if your application is complex.

Your application may be delayed or returned if it’s not complete.
