Yea, i have been denied with a visitor visa in the first time that i applied because they didn’t think that i had enough ties with my home country. And then for student visa for the same reason. Hopefully that doesn’t affect my application. When it says that “We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada office in Vancouver Immigration will contact you to arrange an appointment for the finalization of your permanent resident application.” is it pretty much 100% that I will get my pr? Because I am thinking about moving to Vancouver, and I don’t want to spend $5000 moving and not getting my pr lol

Even if you've been denied entry it won't affect whether you'll get PR. You pretty much are 100% guaranteed at this point, so nothing to worry about.

Lol You could get a learners driver license just by writing the test. You don’t need car for that. And also some provinces make Photo IDs. They look similar to a driver license.

My husband's license has an old address on it... not our current one.

A utility bill should suffice though shouldn't it?

Anyone got request letter for more proof of relationship? I got the letter like 3 weeks ago and I was trying to gather all the documents today and then I found out it actually says 'submit until the date above mm/dd/yyyy' but I don't see any date on my letter.
I'm currently waiting for my baby's long form birth certificate, which will be ready on this friday. I just assume the duedate will be a month later, but not sure. Anyone has an idea??
And.. for those who already sent more of supporting documents, are you still waiting for the process?
It looks like many of the applicants got their DM. Congrats! Hope I get mine soon too.

Well.. just bring passports then. Legal ID without address.

Well the letter asks for valid ID and proof of address. So I guess we'll just bring some utility bills along with passports, since those worked when I was applying for OHIP. I can't see why they wouldn't work for PR as proof.

We have to fly to Toronto so we're already going to have our passports on us anyway, so we'll just use those for the ID portion I guess.

OMG, I received SA at 4:38 PM. Totally was not expecting it :)

What’s the drivers license for? Neither of us has one

As a form of ID for the sponsor. The applicant is ID'd via passport. You can use PR card or passport too. Anything that has an photo and government issued will work.

Uhm because we don’t have a car?

One of the first things that I did when I came to Canada back in 2011 was to get a driver's license (learner's license). It is so much easier to carry a card than a passport since you don't know when you will need to present a photo ID.

The letter that we got for the interview did not mention anything about proof of address but I guess it varies between CIC centers. Like I was seeing some posts mentioning that it takes 10 - 15 minutes + loads of questions but we were in and out in few minutes with having to answer only 1 question.

Yeah take utility bills. You can also take bank statement or void check. When we went for our interview immigration office asked for our IDs and we showed them our licenses. Your passports are good enough for ID proof. In case they say anything about address then you’ll have something with you.

Hello Everyone. I am a July 2018 Applicant. I am a PR and I sponsored my husband. But I am not working. Neither is my husband working. I had selected not employed while filling up the form. Immigration had asked me to send T4, paystubs and bank a/c statements. I have never used social assistance or any govt aid.

What should I do?

I am looking for a job. I had some previous savings that I used all this time. So, dont have savings as well. Is there any hope for me? Are there cases about applications being refused based on job and income?

In Canada, even you have no income, you still have to file tax every year. For application, it must have at least 3 years tax slip.

July 5 applicant.
Sponsor side shows decision made on ecas and PA side is still in process.
Voice prompt states eligibility is in progress.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get decision made on PA side after decision made on sponsor side?
