I totally agree. In trying to be amusing, I was exaggerating slightly and probably wasn’t clear above. I think CIC are pretty reasonable in giving a 6 month timeline, and they are very clear about not contacting them until you have waited six months. Any bugging them ahead of that time is just not following their process so standard reply’s or even no reply is fair enough.I think bugging them, even with polite CSEs, would be counterproductive and could even backfire. You're only 2 weeks away from the 6 months, the good news could come soon.
However, if people are willing to respect their six month timeline, then I feel strongly that once 6 months and a day have passed, like in ExpressoEntry’s case above, they should take a week or so to come back with a proper reply (I.e we have concerns about your work experience, or your security checks are taking longer than expected because of your travel history etc). A standard cut and paste response within 48 hours having followed their process is literally pointless - they should just have no customer service and cut the RPRF fees!
