My wife's file got transferred to NDVO on 27sept but did not receive anything after.I don't know they received or not yet?
AOR2? Do you know where to inquire? NDVO has no contact number and not replying email.

I'm slightly confused. Do all US applicants have to send their passport in to Ottawa after approval? I've read a lot of posts and looked at people's different dates. It appears some get the COPR and immediately land or flagpole. Others look like there's a time lapse for sending in the passport and waiting to get it back. Exactly how does this work. Thank you!

Hey you should confirm this for accuracy, but from what I've read on this forum, visa exempt countries only have to send a copy of the passport along with 2 passport photos...but def check that info out

So my husband finally got his COPR in the mail last night and is currently at the airport to land here, woohoo!!

Congratulations! I'm so happy you will get the Christmas you were hoping for. Nothing new here - background check is still "Not Started." Still hoping for some news soon.

I have the same question. My background check changed to "in process" Oct 22 and upto now no Passport request yet.

I think it's really quite individual, mine changed to "in process" weeks ago, then police checks and license history was requested. Since then it's slowed majorly! I spoke with another person who's been "in process" for months after having a document requested.

Just want to share a good news, applications are Closed and Approved and the Ottawa office sent our passport 11/09/2016 and we are expecting to get it on Monday because of the holiday coming on Friday.

Application Processed: August 12, 2016 (sponsor)
Application Processed: September 01, 2016 (Principal's Applicant)
Medical Done: Received and Passed
Requesting for Police Certificate: September 29, 2016 (Ottawa request for Police Certificate from Philippines)
Sent the Police Certificate: October 10, 2016 (to Ottawa)
Police Certificate Received October 11, 2016
Received Passport Request: October 27, 2016 (E-mail)
Sent Passport to Ottawa: October 27, 2016
Decision Made on ECAS: October 28, 2016
Passport Received(Ottawa): October 31, 2016
Approved and Closed: November 08, 2016
Ottawa sent Passport: November 09, 2016


Here is our Complete Process, hope you get an idea, my spouse is a USA green card holder/permanent residence and citizen of the Philippines with a clean record. Over all processing of our application was 114-116 days. This is just my insight, I think Once you get a PPR and ottawa receive your passport wait for 8 days for MyCIC to change to Approved and closed, then the next 1-2 days the ottawa will sent your passport back (might apply only with visa exempt and US PR). Hope it might help and hope everyone on this thread will get a good news soon.

I filed on July 04, 2016. Sponsor approved on August 23. I am elated.

My VO was Ottawa. I'm from the US. I used an immigration consultant but she wasn't an attorney. I did 90% of the work myself, she primarily polished it and checked for errors. I have a dependent so that made it a little bit more complicated.

I just wanted to share the amazing news. I submitted my application on July 26th and it was approved as of November 3rd! Received the visa in the mail yesterday - now have to go to a CIC office or border agent to get it signed!
