Hello everyone, I've been reading through this large, extensively useful thread. However, it is too huge to be able to cover.

I need your advice please. I am about to get married in Egypt. I knew my fiancee for a long time and her brother is my friend since childhood. We went to the same schools. I came to Canada in 2013 and became a PR in April 2016.

However, we have no evidence that we had correspondence until August 2016. She just graduated in 2015.

In August 2016 I went on a holiday to Egypt to have an engagement. I have enough evidence that it is not fake, Lots of photos with family and with proper formal clothing for the ceremony. I have also Photos of me with her and our siblings in outings.

I intend to get married in December 2016. I will be able to spend a month in Egypt before having to go back to Canada for my work. We are planning a traditional ceremony with all of our families and friends attending. We will also have several outings and will have photos in several outings.

I plan to submit our application around March 2017.

I need your advice on what to do so that we avoid any complications with our sponsorship and PR applications.

Pleased to report that my wife will be visiting me for a few days here in BC!

We're wondering what the likelihood of her being able to wait up here for a few months are? Her return ticket is for next Sunday, but we would love the option -- although it will make us very poor, haha -- of her being here in the meantime.

1. From now till your marriage make sure you communicate well and saver proofs, whats app, facebook, skype etc

2. Wait till your full marriage is complete with all of your and hers family member before you apply. Applying with just engagement is highly not recommended.

3. Make sure you keep reciepts of everything during your marriage. Have a small honey moon if you can and take crap load of pictures with her and yours family all together.

How do I know my Visa office? How come folks here can see timelines against their statuses? I can see only In Progess, passed, Not started. Please let me know if I need to check somewhere else.

Sohini after sponsor approval you get an email and they forward the application to the nearest visa office (nearest to where the principal applicant lives). Are you the sponsor or principal applicant?

And about the timelines you neeed to update. Go to your profile and you can key in the information you have got from CIC.

I am the PA. My husband is the sponsor. My application was received on July 26, 2016. Below is the status that I can see.

Where are you now? That's where your visa office should be. Maybe your husband should recheck his mails or emails. If not maybe I suggest call CIC...

ecas might be showing decision made on the sponsor's side.
But it might be good news too....

I am in SFO, USA. My husband didnt get any mail. hope things are moving
