Hello this is doljan's wife... I just wanted to give you an update on our situation. I received an email from Ottawa on Oct 1 from an officer handling our case. This is what he/she said....

Dear XXXXXX:

This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on behalf of XXXXX. We are not able to process your application as it is incomplete. :o

You are missing the following:
A separate and newly completed Additional Family Information form (IMM5406) bearing original signatures for XXXXXX. This must be received at this office by: 11/30/2012

All requested documents/information and a copy of this letter must be submitted within the time frames specified above. If you are unable to provide any or all of the requested documents/information, please explain why they are not available.

Please submit the requested documents to the following address:

Attention: Officer XX-XXXX
Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa
219 Laurier Avenue West
7th Floor, Section B
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 1L1

My husband sent the missing form yesterday and should take up to 2 weeks to arrive. It would have been a royal pain if everything was sent back to me, so I am very grateful to the officer who is working on our file. Maybe it helped that our application was very organized and also putting little puppy dog sticky notes explaining small details of our application where needed... :-*

I'm sorry to hear that imcanadian, however you are right - it's great they didn't return your whole application, and it looks like they will simply slot you back into the queue.
Hopefully it wont set you back too much time at all considering you have already sent your documents. And it also looks like they have allocated you a UCI number for your file as well.
Good-luck!

Hey guys do you think we should have a different colour for stage 2 AOR? Maybe a light green? It will show the spreadsheet moving along better I think. What do you guys think? bagel?

Hi Bagel,

Stage 2 AOR received email from Sydney on Oct 9th. Thanks for the update.
Cheers

Well done!

All the best for the rest of the process :)

Abuzz - sure I can do that for you. At the very least it makes the spreadsheet slightly more interesting ;)

Looks Awesome!!! July moving along!!! Now i just need an AOR.... Thankyou bagel!

Thanks - no worries :)

You are next on the list!

Well I'm impatient, so I called CIC today to see if any movement had happened with our application. The lady was nice and told me that 69 days was a "guideline" to use although the website says it is the approximate time. She told me to call back when the website says they are working on applications past the day our application was received. It just makes me a little upset because I know people who applied in mid August already got their AOR. I guess I have to be a little more patient though.

Yea I'm in the same boat... They updated the site, working on July 30th now... so hopefully by next week or the one after at the latest we finally hear something. Sometimes I think about everyone after who already got approvals and stuff but then I remember that initially it was closer to 90 days when we sent in the applications. So hang in there! Almost there :)

That's true. I just wanted to know by this week so I could give my family back home some good news. Oh well, hopefully they will be farther along next week.

Well it's Friday afternoon here in Australia, and it's almost knock off time... hooray! I just wanted to wish all Julyers a good weekend and hope all remaining July applicants receive god news by the end of the weekend!

Goodluck!

Have a good one bagel. Abuzz and Aerogurl87 I know your pain. When they were approving mid-July applicants I had high hopes that we would be following them with approval in September. But alas we have had the unfortunate luck of being the last ones on the list. I'm curious, are your sponsors living abroad or are you sponsors living outside of Canada. I'm sponsoring my wife and we both live outside of Canada. I wonder if the reason why some applications take longer to process is because the sponsor lives outside of Canada. It would make sense that it takes longer because CIC would have to do more background checks like intend to return and why we don't have Option C forms etc. That's the reasoning I'm telling myself at the moment. But it still doesn't really explain why people who submitted their applications exactly a month after ours are already happily onto stage 2 while we're still here worrying about AORs and stage 1 approval. :(

Thanks guys, yea... it sucks that there is no rhyme or reason when it comes to these application wait times... motorcyclerider I'm actually the sponsor from Canada and my wife is in India right now. So don't think it's that. I'm really hopping we hear something by next week or the week after by the latest before I start calling people left and right.

Hang in there, you'll get it by next week I am positive :).

Don't want to freak anybody out but I submitted our application in May and waited in excess of 100 days only to find out from my MP that my application was missing documents.
My application was received in Mississauga mid May and at some point was transferred to Ottawa where both my Sponsorship applications and my wife's passport photos had mysteriously vanished. I have resent those as of a month ago and have just now received a "decision made" on my sponsorship. Thats 5 months just for the 1st portion.
My advice is to call your MP as soon as the time has gone longer than what is posted on their website.
Good Luck
