I hope so. We're going back to the US to visit my family next week before we send off the payment for the RPRF along with some more evidence from our upcoming trip. It'd be nice to have some good news to bring my family while I'm down there.

strange.... my boyfriend just got an email from CIC saying his application for PR was received july 10th...but on Sept 24th I got an email stating I was approved as his sponsor. I guess this email that just came was his AOR? and it just came later than the sponsorship approval? but now he has his own UCI # along with the one I was given in the sponsorship approval letter

Maybe this is the second stage AOR from your visa office? If so, that's really fast!

Wow that is amazingly fast. Sydney is known to be the most efficient and quickest of all the VO's so an AOR for 2nd stage does seem quick but if any VO can make a quick decision it is Sydney. Congrats

Can I ask which VO you are going through? Also when did you get your medicals done?

Ahhh! Thats the sad question . I'm going through Islamabad, Pakistan. The processing time is 26 months =(. Guys can our spouses get visit visa while waiting for the stage 2 approval ?

Hopefully your second stage doesn't take as long as 26 months. I do believe your spouse can apply for a visit VISA however they need to supply proof that they have strong ties back home so it is not likely they will overstay their VISA. Hopefully someone else can give you more info on the topic, as I am not sure of all the exact details!

Awesome news figgy! Hopefully all the recent Aus apps will also hear something from Sydney VO in coming weeks!

The same thing happened to me today as well! My VO is Sydney too! They're so quick!!!

thanks guys! yeah, I had emailed sydney VO asking if I should mail the copied passport now or wait for it to be requested, but they replied this morning saying to wait until it was requested and that the application was received in Sydney and an email was sent to my partner. SO the email he got was our second stage AOR!!! i didn't know there was such a thing haha but it's a great sign that things are moving swiftly over in Sydney! thanks for the help everyone!
