Welcome lazycat_husbad!
When did you complete your medicals, which VO are you going through, and what date was your application received? I will add you to the spreadsheet. You are likely to receive an AOR this week :)

my wife has her medical test 12th May 2012,
Singapore ( the longest one ;D ).
the received date of my application is 20th July 2012.

Says Hi to the waiting game which test our the durability, truth, love, and faith of our relationship.
Hope that waiting time is worth to do that.
Love my lazy cat

Wow!!! 10Kg??? Really? :o

Mine was less than 200g. I'm worried now :-\

I guess that's because I'm sponsoring only my 2 year old daughter. I just hope I sent everything they need ::)

Oh My God, my application must be the heaviest one, 12kg, a huge package in a box. ;D
:P :P :P, CIC agent must be stronger due to processing my application.
thank you any agent who work with my application

Hi Guys,

Great news about the reduced processing time for stage 1. Looks like there is about 20-30 or so days left for everyone in July.

The spreadsheet has been updated.

I also didn't have a very heavy application - 800gm I think. it was still expensive to send from Australia though!

Here's hoping this week brings some more AORS and approvals. :)

I have few questions regarding stage 2 ...

1. Do they trnasfer the file electronically? (I'd suppose so, but it's government, so you never know ... (yes, I do work for the government ;D ;D ;D ))

2. How would the embassy contact us if they need info, request passports, etc? By email or mail? If by mail, would we be still able to find out online? Not sure how reliable China post is ???

3. Judging by the timelines of other people, they ask for the passport and then it takes somewhere between month or two to get the visa issued. Any way not to give the passport in advance? The problem is that my wife is studying in China and may need to travel back to home, not to mention that it's the only document showing that she is legal in China :-\

Hi, I didn't see if anyone answered you or not.. so I"ll give it a shot.

1) The application is transferred by mail (shipped) to the Visa office. I assume some of the electronic form stay in the database and get access electronically, but all of your proofs of relationship, etc get sent as a package to your VO (go figure, darn Government hehe)

2) How they contact you for PPR varies by Visa office. Most will send a letter and/or e-mail. I have rarely heard of people being phoned as well. It varies - I hope you receive your letter if that's how they choose to contact you. Keep an eye on E-CAS for updates and if your application has been in process for a longer-than-usual time, you could try and contact them to make sure you're not missing a PPR request or something.. But I think you should receive your letter/email just fine as long as you gave good addresses.

3) Once they ask for the passport (PPR), it can take them anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months (or more in VERY rare instances) to return the passport. There's really no way to prevent this - when they ask for it, you have to send. I have heard that some people chose to go in person to the VO to give their passport, but I would be very worried (personally) that they wouldnt be able to do it in person or something. If you wanted to try, I would definitely call first to make sure they would allow you to go in person. If not, you'll have to send it off and wait... It sucks and sometimes it's long, but it's all you can do.

Hope that helps!

thanks, MissDominica
good luck ;)

I wouldn't worry, mine was 1 pound (450gr) and it was approved - I saved weight by printing pictures on regular letter size paper (4 on each page), print only pages of chat logs from different dates (but stated explicitly that it wouldn't be responsible to kill trees by printing out thousand of pages ot chat records :P )
