I have a question to ask.Last summer I mortgaged a house in Oakville, Ontario, with a 35% downpayment. I rented it out this April. Is that counted as part of POF? Should I inform the London visa office?

Got very strange verification call today, I really don’t know is it from Canadian Embassy or from someone else. It’s actually from India as caller said (coz CLI was blocked) and they wanted to know a lot about our company, what exactly we do, how many people do we have bla bla bla…
At first they called and wanted to talk to CEO (they already know the name of the CEO from company web) then he asked about me… unfortunately we both were not in the office that time… and they tried to get some info from different employees and after getting my cell number they said they will call me on my cell…
But after 2 hours they called again on my office, I was in the office that time… then they talk to me and asked so many questions about our company… When I said why I should provide you all these info then they said that another company from Europe wants to do business with your company and we are doing verification about our company for them.
Now I am just keeping my fingers crossed…
Can anyone have this kind of verification experience before? Is it really from CIC?

It's looking strange do they verify about your job/duties/experience ?.Normally out source agencies can verify like this but embassy cannot talk like this and also cannot introduced himself wrongly but you Don't worry let's see and wait for other senior members comments.

Dont worry i think it was not verification call and also its very rare chances that CHC'S verify job experience after 1 or 2 years, normally they verify experience minimum in 3 months and maximum in 8 months, if you see the list and also on other threads CHC'S do verify JOB experience with in maximum 8 months NOT AFTER 1 OR 2 YEARS. I didnt see a single person on this forum who verified after 1 or 2 years. Its very rare.SLEO said:

As far i know, every organization has standard procedures to follow. If Canadian Emabssy is to inquire about me at my job place or for any other issue anybody calling is liable to give first his full description and the reason why he needs this information. As if he does not i shall simply say sorry i am not bound to provide you any information.
I was told by my Bank's manager that inquiries do come to the bank and they give their proper introduction and call from the embassy's designated numbers unlike your case where CLI was blocked (C'mon people why on the earth they shall adopt this procedure, after all thsi si just immi they are not going to offer you Canadina PM's seat).
My advice dont get that much obsessed with this canadian immi. Things will happen when these are to happen. I know majority of us have no other way else than to obtain immi and try our luck in a better place but what about PLAN B. What if (and as it appears from the replies of Canadian Embassy) process is gonna be delayed? Pay full attention to your jobs keep the families running and wait and try to take this immi off your back and work, earn, eat and be happy.
