My Son is currently in Canada on a USIT visa. He is working on a short term contract at the moment ( 6 months ). But he has been offered a permanent job with a large financial institution. He wants to stay in Canada Permanently.
My question is, can he get a temporary visa in Canada when his USIT visa expires and can that company sponsor him for permanent residency.

Unfortunately, I have no idea but I am sure someone else on here will know. Congrats to your son.

1. The employer would have to obtain a Labour Market Opinion from HRSDC after advertising on the Job Bank for 2 weeks. And then proving to HRSDC that there were no Canadian/PRs available for job and why those that applied were not qualified.
2. If it was approved, then your son could apply for a work permit.
3. The company can get a certificate under a PNP program depending on the province, otherwise your son would have to apply for PR, and the company (if he is working on an approved work permit with LMO for the company) could support the application with an offer of permanent employment when he becomes a PR.
