Hello everyone,

I know this question may be asked in this forum previously, but i really want to get a real picture of Canda IT job market.

I am on H1b visa and working as IT Consultant. But, currently i converted my H1b Visa to H4. My wife is on H1b visa working as Programmer Analyst. We did applied for Green card but my labor got rejected. My wife is working as a permanent employee but her employer is not willing to sponser.
Also, her company is not doing well as they are not having more projects

Now, i got canada PR last month and planning to go to canada. Now we are in dilemma, should we move to canada permanently or keep our option for USA open i.e go there and come back (as we have three years that we can maintain our PR) and work on h1b and apply for labor through IT consultant once i get project and wait for years to get a green card process.

I understand that the IT market is not good in canada.

Thouse who move from USA to canada and working in IT sectors please advise me as we both are not deciding what should we do. Is there any IT consultant in canada like USA to get a contract jobs?
Also, i realy want an honest opinion about canada job market.

Thanks

Apprecialte if you give your response

In my opinion, you should keep ur options in the U.S. open until u find a job here. We were in the same situation as you and we decided to leave our jobs in the U.S. to come here. It is hard not having any income and seeing all our savings going down. What u can do is take a leave of absence from ur work and stay here for about 2-3 weeks and see if u can find a job then decide if u want to go back. Knowing that u have an option of a job in the U.S. is a peace of mind. Hope this helps... :)

1. Does the company need to apply for the Immigration process, do we need some kinda sponsorship or can we do it ourselves ?

2. What is the timeline of the whole process?

3. Also what other things do we need to keep on the mind since we are on H1B & H4 same as you ?

Waiting for ur response , U cud be of gr8 speedy help here for us

I was on an H1B in the US for 5 years, my employer also refused to sponsor. H1B as all work permits is time locked, so 6 years and you're out. I had to sell my beautifull house and lost most of my belongings and moved back to Beirut where I faced three wars and several bombings. My suggestion to you is to make CANADA your priority, and to make every effort you have into becoming a citizen. Sooner or later your wifes H1B will expire or be cancelled, and you will have to leave all your dreams behind.
Citizenship is more important than job, money , prestige....
