yikes, can you imagine? That’s so messed up haha but I really hope I see some updates by tomorrow or Friday latest!

I submitted mine on January 9th, AOR on January 27, and still no movement or updates. There are way too many factors that decide the progress of the application, and some of them are unknown to us. They may bounce them from the processing office to a processing office, depending on the application load. Way too many factors. You gotta be patient and wait, or you can try to raise a webform, or call them.

I also posted this similar question on one of the different pages and here is what I have received, just wanted to share some information with you:

"The finger printing done for IRCC every ten years is used for identity verification at the border by CBSA. It has nothing to do with the fingerprinting for Citizenship application to clear your Background check. You may be selected for a finger print if RCMP are unable to verify your criminal record with just your name, dob, and place of birth. Sometimes, you might be selected for Programme integrity/assurance reasons... If your Background check is already complete, you'll not need to submit finger prints"

I am unsure because my representative mailed it on the 17th of January from Alberta. It either got there Friday the 20th or Monday the 23rd. I don’t have the tracking information but because I was given AOR this week I’m assuming it was delivered Friday the 20th. They are processing paper applications delivered the week of January 16th.

AoR: 31st Jan
Successful tracker account creation/tracking: 2nd Feb (after about 60 hrs since AoR)

4 sections have 'in progress' status.

After multiple ghost updates (I think on 6th Mar and then 7th Mar), today on 8th Mar, I see the status 'Background verification: Completed' with the timeline showing, completed on 6th Mar 2023

A ghost update is when you log into your tracker and see that it says it's been updated (new date in the corner), but nothing appears to have changed. It usually indicates that some information in your file has been updated on IRCC's end, but they have not pushed anything through to your end.

Speaking of, yet another ghost update for me! Weird, but ok. I'm busy studying for my test!

It seems to be the pattern. I had 2 ghost updates before it was finally updated to completed!
