I highly doubt because it would be unfair to ppl who are still waiting.
Right?! We are already so frustrated and people come up with these stuff and talk like it was the most absolutely truth.

I trust Legalfalcon's opinion in these cases as the user only talks about known facts with no speculation. Unless we see a leaked memo that says so or a press release here, I'd not trust any of it.
Thank you! I just thought about asking you, because I’ve never heard of anything like it.

Hello,

My PR application is approved 9 months after AOR, i received a portal email requesting to submit my passport and i just respond to the request yesterday. Since my medical exam validity gonna expire on the 9th of december, i will have nearly 3 months from now to prepare my landing in Canada which is a short period of time for my personal circumstances, i would prefer landing after winter falls

Also, here's the historic of my application :

AOR Jan 2023
Medical passed : 4th August
UCI updated : 4th August
Biometric : 10th August
Eligibility passed : 10 August
Background Check passed : 11 September
Passport request : 12 September

IRCC started processing my application almost 7 months after the AOR.

based on this historic, can I request an extension of the validity of my medical examination from IRCC? If yes, how can I do this already knowing that I have submitted my passport for a visa.

Thanks in advance for replying.

Congratulations!

I don't think you can extend your CoPR validity by extending your medicals, I've not seen a case where that happened. 3-6 months of validity was also quite normal before before 2020-2023 as well.

Soft landing is an option that you can consider though.

It is an unfortunate situation, but IRCC does seem to award applicants being proactive with all the tools at their disposal, including mandamus. Probably because going to court bites into their strained legal budget, more than turning a blind eye, and give people their PPRs without waiting for SS to finish. IRCC does often dig in their heels against applicants with more red flags.

No, they won't renew my visa while under SS.

I come from a certain country hit hard by SS. I am in contact with hundreds of other people in the same demographic via Whatsapp groups. Dozens have filed mandamus, and have kept the rest of the group updated.

I regret if I come across as unduly impatient with IRCC. That is because I have barely lived in my country of birth as an adult, and deep down I feel their arbitrary witch hunt has gone too far. Again, thank you for your concern with my well being.
Did you got the PPR?

Well, I am currently hopeless on getting eCOPR anytime soon.

Portal 1 - 22nd of August (Etobicoke)
Portal 2 - 25th of August

Portal 1 (again) - 13th of September (Montreal) - I replied saying I already have a portal and with attachments proving it.

I called them today and there is no timeline for eCOPR, and Montreal will be the office sending me the eCOPR… just don’t know when and I feel like a clown after 7 months of wait on an EE program.

I wish they just love me fast enough lol. They’re so confusing and annoying by taking so much time on something that seems as simple as accept a declaration. It blows my mind.

I really hope so, all of my fingers are crossed

Hello Everyone,
My family and I are planning to move between March and April 2024.

OINP
COPR - June 30 2023

What are the affordable areas in Ontario ?
What should we consider when it comes to housing(rent) etc…
What other factors should we consider ?

GTA right now is $2300+ easily for 1 BDR (reasonably expect ~$2500+/mo). Kitchener and Waterloo are expensive too.

You can find cheaper rentals in other parts of Ontario that are far away from GTA.
