Yeah true, but that is not going to be in force before June 2023, whatever the decision is. This delay, though, in scheduling Oaths feels different. As of October 2022, IRCC realized that they have a backlog of 360,000 files pending for citizenship grant. That is when few experts suggested that there should be a better approach to tackle the situation. So they come up with an approach of skipping the Oath ceremony in the presence of Judge. Meaning the applicant who is waiting for an Oath ceremony would receive an email to Opt the mode of Oath ceremony. 1) In presence of Judges (Virtual) 2) A simple click of consent that the Oath is completed. It was called out that the 2 approach would save 3 months. Based on this suggestion there was a survey opened to public to understand what they would poll for. That survey ran until 27th March 2023. For sure they might have the outcome by now.
I am anticipating that if there are no Oath emails coming in - there is something big that's gonna change the Oath process.
I’m on my 6 month from test.Do we have anyone waiting for more than 6 months, from the time you completed your test?
I completed my citizenship test Sep 26, 2022 and LPP was updated to completed Jan 26 2023.Do we have anyone waiting for more than 6 months, from the time you completed your test?
You should able to find this information from the email address that you received test invite. Just check that address and then search it in the forum!I completed my citizenship test Sep 26, 2022 and LPP was updated to completed Jan 26 2023.
Waiting since then....
How do you find out your processing office?
In 2 days I will be completing 6 months from my test date. LPP remains Inprogress/Not started. The agents confirmed that my file is not Non-routine. Lets see if some miracle would happen in next 2 days.I was a February 2022 applicant and I was never aware of anything that allows you to skip the oath ceremony. Everyone I know had to do the oath ceremony in-person or virtually, including myself. It took me 4 months to go from taking my test to going to the ceremony - seems to be the average amount of time people that applied in early 2022 had to wait. But I’ve heard they’re processing the newer cases quicker. Either way, you can check for yourself in this tracker I was using. https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/canadian-citizenship-processing-tracker. The 2022 cases are 50/50 - some are PPR and some are still waiting on the oath letter
