To the American PA's--have you guys considered waiting inland while the outland process is ongoing or would this logistically be too difficult? That's what my husband and I are doing, I just bought a plane ticket for next month and we'll drive across the border to do biometrics if I still haven't gotten the request by then. We've been separated for far too long (married almost a year ago, started dating nearly 8 years ago) and we can no longer wait. But of course, logistically this is a bit simpler for me seeing as I am currently living with my parents and I work at a school, so my work year will be finished by next month. I know not everyone has similar circumstances, but it's just a thought/suggestion.
Doing that was never an option for me. I have so many medical conditions and one in particular, an autoimmune disease that will kill me if I don't have access to my medications, testing, and proper medical providers. Not only health issues but I have a special needs non-human baby that requires his own doctor taking care of him and his own medical needs and medications. I also need to work for obvious financial reasons. I work part-time at the hospital which works for my health issues and when school is in session. There's just too many things working against waiting inland. I wish things were different, like being a healthy person and having a healthy non-human baby, but unfortunately that's not the case, and not every spouse is able to completely cover every expense without some form of contribution and I cannot do that. That's great you are able to do that.
