To the American PA's--have you guys considered waiting inland while the outland process is ongoing or would this logistically be too difficult? That's what my husband and I are doing, I just bought a plane ticket for next month and we'll drive across the border to do biometrics if I still haven't gotten the request by then. We've been separated for far too long (married almost a year ago, started dating nearly 8 years ago) and we can no longer wait. But of course, logistically this is a bit simpler for me seeing as I am currently living with my parents and I work at a school, so my work year will be finished by next month. I know not everyone has similar circumstances, but it's just a thought/suggestion.
Doing that was never an option for me. I have so many medical conditions and one in particular, an autoimmune disease that will kill me if I don't have access to my medications, testing, and proper medical providers. Not only health issues but I have a special needs non-human baby that requires his own doctor taking care of him and his own medical needs and medications. I also need to work for obvious financial reasons. I work part-time at the hospital which works for my health issues and when school is in session. There's just too many things working against waiting inland. I wish things were different, like being a healthy person and having a healthy non-human baby, but unfortunately that's not the case, and not every spouse is able to completely cover every expense without some form of contribution and I cannot do that. That's great you are able to do that.

Ah, I see for all of you it's definitely a matter of circumstance (distance and cost of flying/medical issues/financial reasons). :( Sorry to hear that guys, it's really frustrating being separated from our spouses due to circumstances beyond our control. Just goes to show that being from a visa-exempt country doesn't necessarily make it easier to visit partners because there are costs and sacrifices associated with it that we can't all take. Here's to hoping we get more movement in our files within the next month--there's still time for us to hit the 6-month processing time (though I know right now the chances look bleak). I think once we get biometric requests (for those that still need it) it'll at least be a sign that our files are being looked at again instead of sitting on a pile.

I think it is best to try not to follow other cases or months too closely - comparison is the thief of joy, and all that. I struggle with this as well, especially after our dramatic weekend thinking we had ppr but didn't, but the negativity oon by hurts us.

We've considered it but need him to continue working and making money (i am in US too, SAHM, so his is our only income). We've got all our stuff that has to stay somewhere till the move (even though we aren't bringing much....)

I'm frustrated as well from the slowness of the processing, my wife is a PR and she is sponsoring me and currently, I'm in the United States, Is it possible for her to come and visit me and how long could she stay without affecting our application? does anyone have answers?!!

Short trip only. PRs have to be inside Canada to sponsor.

If there is a ghost update message, how does the email notification look like?? Does it state any refernce no beginning with a letter "E" ??

My understanding is that a Ghost update refers to when you log in to MyCIC, you will see that instead of "submitted" it will say "updated". When you open it, nothing has changed in anything else. If you log out and back in again, it will be back to the normal "submitted". There is no email notification for this. It just means they were working on your file. Within a day or two of seeing that, some people have received a DM on ecas or some other message like ADR Additional document request.
