Hi All,

I am gathering documents for outland spousal sponsorship application. I know my spouse since 2009. Met him as friend at public places before marriage(Dec 2016). In form IMM5532E, PART C - Section 4, they ask If you are not living together , have you visited each other during your relationship. I marked it yes. Now my question is I should list all visits till now or only those after marriage? Please advice. Thanks.

My wife and I both met 5 years ago, did the long distance thing for 2 years or so of the relationship early on - we listed these dates in the boxes (filled up maybe 4 of the 5 boxes they gave you). Then in the last box I just typed "See attached Sheet for more info" then we wrote on a separate sheet with the form number/question number/part number, and answered in detail. We live near each other now and I commute weekly 2, sometimes 3 times a week just to visit, and we've been doing this for the last 3 years. Obviously I can't remember or list every single visit, so we just summarized it up. In the boxes though, we listed our first travel dates where we flew back and forth to see each other, etc.

Hope that helps.

Now 21 days since sending the application through regular mail from Latvia with no confirmation email from Mississauga and postal tracking number not working.

Really trying to stay positive that the package is not lost but each day is getting a bit scarier.. fingers crossed, we really want to move to Canada as soon as possible.

Hey Andrew,

If Latvian post did transfer your package in canada it should be with one of these guys.. if not try asking Latvian post, who they transfer it off too..

Try contacting, DHL, PURALATOR, UPS, cargo jet
http://flyhamilton.ca/business/

Basically when this happened to our application, our tracking number in belgium said 'other' but the location was YHM, that is the airport code for Hamilton airport..

Im hoping this helps! I'm praying for you guys!!

Hmm ... I wonder if Place of Residence is the thing that is preventing the linking of our application? We used the old kit and I don't recall seeing that anywhere when we filled out the forms. Unfortunately, I get an error when I leave that section blank, and it won't let me proceed until I add the information.

I really do think, if they want us to link the paper application online, it should be easier to do. The fact that what works for some people doesn't work for others isn't good. Have us enter less info, the same info for everyone (app number, client ID, principal applicant's name should be quite sufficient), and be done with it. It shouldn't be this difficult. :(

The city and place of residence should be your address you put on the forms. If you and your sponsor have different address, use your sponsor's city and province for in-land application. If it doesn't work use yours. Good luck

Yes, thank you. I have been using my address as he lives in the US and this is where we'll be living when he becomes a resident. Still no luck linking the application, yet. I think I might just give up on it for now.

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if the AOR emails are sent out on the weekend?

Thanks

The address is correct if you spouse is outside canada.

Application for spouses, common-law partners or conjugal partners and dependent children (currently living outside Canada)

Thank you so much. I appreciate :)

Please update, In case you receive any AOR over weekends Thanks.

I finally got SA!

Instead of being processed in Paris as we thought, they're transferring the application to Ottawa
I have no idea what this means for us, but I hope it's good!

When you receive the sponsor approval e-mail, the letter will tell you which visa office your file has been transferred to.
