Back in March we had to upload another schedule A and the receipt for the permanent residence fee to MyCIC. We did it right away. The deadline for this was April 24 (Monday). The additional documents line says that the documents have been uploaded and the background check has been underway for quite a while and we are assuming that everything is fine.

I have been reading posts in the other monthly threads about the uploading of additional documents and several people have written that they've gotten a message afterward that the documents were received. We've never heard anything from the CIC in that regard. The documents line in our details never changed to say they were being reviewed and now I'm wondering if whomever is working on our file actually got them. But they were uploaded directly to our account, so it should be all good, right? And I'm just worrying for nothing? ???

Good news! I'm still waiting for mine to be processed... I sent a registered mail (lettre recommandée avec avis de réception) with first page of letter, passport photocopy, pictures, and letter outlining height and eye colour... And still no answer. Worst part is that i didn't even get the notice of receipt acknowledging they received the mail. So a bit stressed out as the letter they sent a 30 day limit for a reply (thus till May 6, 2017).
Thats so weird!
Does your GCkey say Approved at the bottom as well?
We sent our by regular mail :/ so we def don't know if its been received or not
I feel you but i think we're okay! :) Easter holidays must've been a part of the delay as well
I hope we get it sometime this week, which is funny because i'm headed to Paris for a couple of days for university

Hi,
I received my COPR last week however I'm a little confused at what I need to bring with me to ensure entry into Canada. The letter states that the form IMM5688 is needed, but I don't know how to obtain this form.
Has anyone entered Canada recently and know what the deal is at immigration.
Thanks,
Heather
This is the COPR. Just carry the 2 pieces of paper that came along with the passport stamp (if you are not from visa exempt country)

Hi Guys,

I finally landed a few days ago (a little after midnight) at the douglas/peace arch border. :) We drove to Blaine, WA and went back to Canada after getting gas. All in all it was a good experience. The only thing that was weird is that the officer was insisting that I should land later when I am finally settling...I am still tying up loose ends in the US so I told the officer I will "settle" later (in a month or so). He kept saying that I should just "land" later when my goods are with me. I insisted on landing (because a lot people in this forum have done it that way with zero issues...so I was confused on why he was insisting). The officer gave in and said since I am not yet settling (he said he will process the landing) immigration will certainly "watch" that I follow the 2 year out of the 5 year rule of maintaining permanent residency. I dont know if he means that i will have extra scrutiny or is that something they usually do anyway. He then said not to use my COPR for air travel (which again, a few people in this forum have done with zero issues). After asking a few more procedural questions, and making me sign my COPR, he asked us (my wife/sponsor was with me to witness everything) to sit down. We waited for about 15 minutes. Then he called us again and gave information about immigrant services. After which he gave me a pin and Canadian flag. He smiled so I reciprocated by smiling and shaking his hands and I even said, "I have been waiting for the flag" and I laughed. The officer was very professional and nice..l was just confused with him insisting I land later. But I am grateful for his professionalism (he kept asking us if we had any more questions. He also complimented me and said he believes Canada needs people like me).

That's it. I am now a US Citizen with a Canadian Permanent Residency Status. :) Hopefully the PR card arrives soon.

Thank you guys for the journey and I hope you guys get your approval and land soon :)

No, it doesn't say Approved yet. and i still didn't receive my Advice/Notice of Receipt. FYI it's part of the French Mail service which can therefore keep the signature of the receiver party, and is sent back by snail mail to the original sender, thus informing the sender that the mail have been received.

I emailed the Paris Immigration office, before the weekend, and i hope to get an answer. Or else i tell my wife to call them...

Hmm, I just received my COPR this past weekend, and was wondering if I could land on May 9th, even though I may not move until August/September. I'm not sure what to take from your encounter. I plan on landing at the Peace Arch as well. I wanted to land sooner than later so that I can get my PR card and apply to OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance), which I hear takes a few months, and have it by the time I move. I also plan on moving with my dog (husky), and would prefer to do the whole landing process without him :p

You'll need to wait to apply for OHIP until you're actually staying in Canada, not just landing. Once you take up residence, you can apply prior to the 3 month waiting period, but you will not receive the card until shortly before your eligibility begins. I got my SIN and G1 done the first week I arrived, and then had to wait a few more weeks until I had my physical license in the mail to go to Service Ontario.

I also have a dog and I landed without him. No questions asked about that part and I did check with CFIA about my dog and it seems they only require rabies vaccination if coming from the United States.

With regards to my experience, I think mine was more of an outlier than the norm. I have read dozens of experiences who landed the same way I did with almost zero question aside from the procedural ones. To be fair, he did process it and was very nice in the end. May be it was just intimidation tactic to see how I will react? I really don't know. Him saying that immigration will watch if I am actually fulfilling my residency requirements doesn't worry me (they will do it anyways). Good luck and much blessings on your landing. Hope all goes well. It's a good feeling when you're actually holding the Canadian flag and pin. :)

Us January applicants seem to be slow moving.... :( Sounds like even more of those who applied in March are getting medical requests- even before they've submitted schedule A or PCC.

It seems they changed the procedure from March applicants - CPC Mississauga.

what do you mean they changed the procedure?
I'm a feb applicant who sent everything upfront,
already passed medical, called and they basically said they haven't started my back ground check yet or my eligibility check.
but I would most likely be sent to Ottawa later on..

Hello guys

I need your help in this situation. My wife sent her passport to Rome office as requested via DHL. The DHL office said when the embassy issue the visa they will send an email to us informing us that the passport is ready for pick up. After we get that email we are supposed to forward it to the DHL so they can pick up the passport. The issue is we haven't received such an email yet. The ecas status and my account said the the application is approved and descion was made and even shows when the visa will expire. This happens maybe 8 or 9 days ago and I sent an email to Rome office but no response yet from them. What do you suggest guys? And feedback is appreciated.

Thank you for your help
