did any of you get the discover Canada book in the mail ? It said in my AOR that it was mailed out to me about one month ago. I have still not received mine. Has any one of you received it ?

Did you receive your AOR via email or letter?

If via email there is a link for the online version. But you can also order a physical book online on IRCC website. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/discover/index.asp

I already have downloaded the book. I was wondering where the book was though, because it says on ecas that they have mailed it.

Few yrs back they used to send AOR and book by mail from CPC-Sydney.
its part of cost-cutting measure, and they encourage to read it online.

If someone wants to order it, it can be ordered on cic website under publications, takes a week by mail.

Well, I have already downloaded the book so I don't really need it. The only reason I am asking is because ecas states that they have shipped the book and I have not received anything by mail.

Hi dell,

About the ecas saying you can download or they mailed the book they told me that as well but I didn't get any. It's ok because I downloaded it last year and read it twice already.

But when I applied for citizenship last month I just ordered it online for free back in Jan 26, 2017 then I got it in the mail Jan 31 or Feb 1, 2017-

A fourth line has been added to my ecas this morning:

We sent you correspondence on February 16, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

I guess it is the finger print request !

I was expecting that since most of the applicants from SK in this forum have received the same request!

congrats! at least someone is looking at it! not like us :P

also, I never understood why they don't just ask for FP in the original application to get it over with. Do they really ever grant citizenship without FP? That would be weird.

Same thoughts here. FP should be done when you send your application ..
Anyway it's been almost a month since they started processing my application. December applicants from Calgary are still waiting for their test invites so I guess it's going to take a while...

forum applicants are experiencing lots of silence on test invitations.....from Toronto/Mississauga local offices.
Maybe they're waiting for the clearances before tests?

Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of advice from the others that have sent in their citizenship applications to answer probably a stupid question.

After meeting all of the citizenship requirements, I've seen a checkbox on the document checklist asking for original police certificates where i was present for 4 years immediately before the date of my application.

If i have resided in Canada for the past 4 years, does this mean i need to obtain a police check from the RCMP here and include that with the citizenship application?

Many thanks

No you will not need police check from Canada in your situation.

You only need to provide a police clearance from countries other than Canada that you have stayed at for 6+ months.

is finger print request received by all or is it random ? is it received through email and updated on the ecas ?

Hi Sa,
It's probably a FP request. Have you travelled outside of canada in the last 4 years or not? Just curious that to whom specifically they send the FP request or is it just a random.
