my wife will be applying this month, at the end.
she's completed the 4/6 rule.

Did you guys check the 2016 tax year or you guys checked years for tax for 2012 to 2015?
It's too early to have done 2016 tax returns.

Hi, In my case I only checked 2012 to 2015. Because like what you had said, too early to check the year 2016. Hubby told me that too. Because he clarified that's just gonna be done this coming taxation year.

I will be applying in January as well, I just completed my days requirement today!! :)

I am a bit worried about the language requirement though, what did you guys send as a proof of language requirement? I am thinking about sending an official university transcript (from Canada) though it will only state that I finished the program not clearly state the language of instruction. I am not sure if it's sufficient. I will do my research in the meantime, I will let you know.

Also something caught my attention, in the government website the average processing time for the citizenship stated is 12 months however, when I checked the September 2016 Spreadsheet many people already took the oath of Citizenship. Can anyone explain to me this difference?
Ah I can't wait to become a Canadian citizen, I truly love this country.

Good luck to u all! I will be posting here regularly.

my wife did the LINC program to level 5/6 when she came, so we have that and will attach a copy of it. It should also be in her record with LINC and should be transmitted to CIC's FOSS system as the certificate also lists her UCI.

I am guessing that CIC wants to see that the "medium of instruction" for education outside Canada is in english. Not sure if all degrees and transcripts are accepted as most do not list medium of instruction. Not sure how to tackle that. Otherwise go for IELTS general test and submit that as proof of english language proficiency or do the CELPIP test, etc.

My wife completes 1460 days on 18th, we're thinking of adding couple of days just in case. So we should mail it in on 20th.
Hopefully it will not take a whole year to get oath as her pr card expires in 2018 so we hope not to have to renew that.

I Ticked 2016 but also ticked not filed. My rational is that by signing that application in January you are now in the 2017 Tax year. Thus you will be required to file taxes for 2016 but may not have done so as it is so early into the 2017 year.

There's a bit of confusion on question Q6-part C.

"Are you a citizen of any other countries" ??

The "online instruction guide" on CIC website says you need to list ALL your citizenshps.
However the question asks for "other" citizenships, other than the one u have.

So if a person only has 1 citizenship which is mentioned on first page under place of birth, is it also necessary to put that same country name in 6C ??

does anyone know if we need to provide the tax return for the previous year because they ask for it but I do not see it on the documents checklist.

Provide your SIN on the form. CIC will pull your returns from CRA.

Hello guys... I am going to be submitting my citizenship application 12th Jan. Just wanted to confirm that we need to submit all passports color photocopy only, record of landing ,PR Card copy and english proof (degree certificate) copy. Is there anything else that I would be missing?

Thanks,

All the instructions are in the link. Your passport copy can be black and white and is only for biographical page. In addition to the documents you listed you also need copy of 2 pieces of personal identification. And receipt of payment.
