Normally it would be part of the initial application for sponsorship approval. However I was told when I asked the same question on this forum that once it was known that I was residing out of Canada they would ask for proof at that time. This is why I say it will likely slow down the application some. Anytime documents are requested there is a delay while waiting on them.botsmith2004 said:Hi MNM2015 .... I believe that proof of returning to Canada would need to be submitted when the application was first submitted and part of the package for Sponsorship Approval.
But since I am currently in Canada and about to get my sponsorship approval as I am residing in Canada, do I need to show proof after I get my sponsorship approval that I will come back if I later move out of the country?
I was considering heading to the States to wait this out with my husband and thought, like you, that after SA it wouldn't matter but was told differently by senior members here. I guess there is always a chance they wouldn't find out and even if they did you are doing nothing wrong as long as you are a citizen. However be prepared to submit proof if asked and be aware your application may take slightly longer because of it.
