NO, absolutely not...Stephan reily said:Thank you !! Just one question though changing address wont affect the processing time right?
It depends on what date you have applied. but usually sponsors will get SA email within 1-2 weeks after AOR1 . If you are lucky then 3-4 days..botsmith2004 said:I got AOR on Mar 2. When can I expect to get Sponsorship Approval?

that's a tricky part. If you are citizen of Canada then it doesn't matter. BUT if you are PR then it might affect. I have seen this question in other forums and everyone has replied the same thing that its easier for citizen but it could be difficult for PR card holders.botsmith2004 said:Thanks for the reply.
Follow up question - I am the Sponsor and am working in Canada and it seems I will be shortly getting "Sponsorship Approval". After I get the approval, can I move out of the country for work? Eg move back to India or USA? If I do, would that negatively impact the process? Do I need to resubmit the application if I move?
I called this morning and was told I was approved on Friday!! I am very happy about that but am the kind of person who won't really believe it until I see it in writing. Not sure why I haven't received anything by email yet as my AOR came by email. I am a little disappointed that they said our file is being transferred to the Dar Es Salaam office instead of Ottawa like we had hoped. Now I have no idea what to expect for processing times. Regardless I am very relieved that I have been approved so now can move on the next stage.Mrs. C3 said:Thanks, I will surely let you know. Please do keep in touch when you got something. Let's pray we get it on Monday
From what I have heard it can take upwards of 3 months to hear anything once they transfer the file to the VO. Not sure if it is different for each VO but on the Mexico spreadsheet it is about a 120 day average to receive AOR2 after SA.regina_123 said:usually after 3-4 weeks of SA, PA will be contacted through email or mail (AOR2) and ecas will be updated on PA side as " we have started processing your application on XXX date "
Hi how did you communicate with them? Did your sponsor get all the information ?? What do they ask for on the phone ?? Can you please guide as even I am waiting for my AOR AND SA both. My file was filed on 11 January 2016 and we have not received anything. Can you please share your experience of how to go about when you call them and the procedure ??MNM2015 said:I called this morning and was told I was approved on Friday!! Mrs C3, have you called yet? Hoping you get positive news as well. Sending good thoughts your way!

My understanding is citizens can reside outside of Canada, however they will be required to provide proof of their intention to return to Canada. If you didn't provide this proof originally it could likely cause a small delay. On the other hand if you are a PR you are not allowed to reside outside of Canada during any portion of the process. I've read on this forum that even vacations outside of Canada of more than 2-3 weeks could jeopardize a PR's sponsorship application.regina_123 said:that's a tricky part. I just called the 1-800 number and explained that it was over the posted processing time so could they please provide an update. I had to answer a few questions to verify myself. The call centre agent was very nice and other than having to wait about 15 minutes on hold it was painless Your sponsor will have to call and if it's not over the posted processing time they won't tell you anything. Your time should be up in a day or two. Good luck and let me know what you find out!Drkdd said:Hi how did you communicate with them? Did your sponsor get all the information ?? Hi MNM2015 .... I believe that proof of returning to Canada would need to be submitted when the application was first submitted and part of the package for Sponsorship Approval.MNM2015 said:My understanding is citizens can reside outside of Canada, however they will be required to provide proof of their intention to return to Canada.
