Just got our CSQ in the mail today! It was signed on 11 March, so took almost two weeks to reach us through snail mail. Now starts the longest wait...

Congrats !!! :D Hope to get mine soon too....I got it requested by my VO 2 weeks ago so the wait is long! :P They charged my CC on march 17th so I guess if yours is dated from the 11th, I still have another week to wait!

Thnx! Yeah, it was 6 days after they charged my credit card that it was issued, so probably yours is on it's way as well!

I wish you ama1978 and Zarilenth a nice and sweet reunion with your loved ones. Sometimes I wish Philippines are not so far away. I miss my wife so much, I feel kind of jealous of you. ;)
Congratulations Aniabella on your CSQ approval. I'm still waiting for mine as of now.
This was also a mean to bring back the thread on the first page since the forum got messed by a spam attack last night. ;D

So I got my GCMS notes for the sponsor approval part of the application. The only thing I noticed is for income assessment, they went back 1 year from the date they received our application. i.e. application received Jan 8, 2014 so income assessment period was Jan 8, 2013 - Jan 8, 2014.

Interesting! When did you order the notes? What else did they say? Any preliminary opinions?

I ordered it Feb 24th, got it today. No preliminary opinions... I only requested mine, so who knows whether there is more info in my hubby's notes. I will request his in a few months. It said our file was in "transit" - not sure if this means it hasn't arrived our visa office yet or the office hasn't updated it.

Oh I see! I hadn't realised the two notes would be different. I assumed if you ordered for the applicant it would also show the information from Mississauga and the sponsor. Thanks!

If you order for the applicant(i.e. your husband), you will get just his information. If you want yours and his, you need to request for "sponsor and applicant" (it's one of the options) from Missisauga.

To clarify, there are two ways to request GCMS:
1. under the privacy Act which is for yourself only and is free of charge - this is what I did.

2. under the Access to Information Act which is on behalf of others - costs $5. You also need to include an "Authorization to release Information" form, signed by the applicant.

If I wanted mine and my husband's notes, I would need to do it under #2 . I did not do that, so even if there were notes about him, CIC did not have his permission to share it with me.

I ordered my notes on March 11th, but now I can't remember what option I chose. I did order them for my husband (the applicant) but I knew not much would be on his side. I hope I chose 'sponsor and applicant' but I just can't remember. I guess I'll find out on April 11th lol.

Just received my CSQ in the mail ;D ;D

Please update Spreadsheet please !

CSQ charged on March 17th
CSQ received March 26th

Forgive me here, but I have 2 questions:

1.) What does CSQ stand for? (should I be expecting to get this?)
2.) I'm wondering why everyone is ordering notes? is this just to see more of the inner workings of your sponsorship approval?

Hope everyone is doing well in the process!

CSQ = Certificate de Selection au Quebec (Quebec selection certificate)
If you will be living in Quebec, you need it. If not, ignore.

The notes contain more information like visa officer comments, etc and you can request them for the sponsorship approval as well as the permanent residence application(for your sponsored spouse).

Congrats! I knew you were going to get yours soon!

I was just wondering since there was some talk about learning French, so just to check if you people understand the website the same way as me. If I would like to try the francisation en ligne, so I just have to wait now 2 months to be able to register? I don't need to wait for PR?

HI Aniabella,
Where did you receive that message of 2 months?
For what I saw, you enter the website, then you Select on the right "Demande d'admission", you do the technical test, and afterwards you fill in the fields to register. They ask for your "No de reference individuel", which you can find on your CSQ.
Maybe you did all of that and received the 2 months message?
If you have questions or problems with the registration process e-mail them at felregistraire@micc.gouv.qc.ca, and let them know that you have your CSQ and would like to enroll.
Hope it helps... :)

My partner is very anxious to take French lessons, but someone on this board told me that there is no hope until you have the PR. I'm still hoping there might be some way to start that earlier, but maybe not. I 'd like to hear it if you find a way around it. Actually, his visitor permit says he's not allowed to take classes, so this might come under that heading. Hmmm.
