Did anyone else not get an email? Is this something I can call and ask?

I've seen many people have the same issue. It's usually sponsorship approval. When they call, they're basically told to wait for the letter to show up.

Personally, I would be checking Ecas every morning and evening for an update. I have noticed it only shows sponsor approval on the sponsor's page. My page (applicant) only says they have my applicant and medicals.

Hi Everyone!

So as if I wasn't stressed as it is! I checked ECAS this morning with all the great news of everyone receiving approval and my sponsorship section changed from application received to "decision made" and then it says " we sent you a letter Feb 18 regarding the blah blah blah.... But I got no email ( I received an email for the AOR alright but nothing....could they really have just sent a letter by mail instead of email?

Is this a bad sign?

Worried.

I believe that simply means you have been approved, most of the time, but you are getting a letter instead of an email. I believe it is a good sign

Congrats! If we're lucky, we'll get second stage AOR. If not, hopefully next request is PPR. (And not additional documents needed!)

That is, unless you didn't submit a medical. They will ask for that before PPR.

And the dreaded interview.......ew!

Thanks Amikety...I really hope the interview is waived. The wait is exhausting

Hi hi hi! My husband checked his Ecas today and we have Decision Made for Stage 1! Same as Lkrammy, ours says that a letter was sent Feb 18. My husband clicked "my page" (dunno what that means though, i've never been inside Ecas myself) and it says Medical results have been received. Yay?

Thanks Iay...

To everyone else waiting for their stage 1 aor and/or approval, I am praying for each and everyone of you. I know how it feels to be in the limbo. I know this is just the first stage and there is more to come but we are all in this together! Hold on and be patient, it will all work out. I know I kept freaking out this past weeks when the approval wont come on and I saw everyone else getting theirs. Thanks to my hubby who kept encouraging me.
We are all going to laugh about this in the coming months when we all get our PRs!!!

Here's MzTee sending y'all some love :-*

Thanks for the prayers for us, MzTee! So sweet of you! ;) I'm still waiting for an AOR! grrr!

At least you know medicals weren't lost?

I know, I'm the optimistic jerk.

Sounds like you have a Stage 1 approval coming your way! 8)

Wow lucky you both that your husband already has a UCI...I wish I did too :P

By the way, why don't you ask your husband to give you the UCI as well? That way you'll be able to access Ecas as well ;).

A letter was sent on 18th Feb eh...? I assume snail mail/letter?! Congrats though! I think it can potentially be the sponsorship approval!

Oh and by the way...all these, and you guys still haven't got an AOR...?! Strange...!

Could you please do me a favour: is it possible to ask your husband to log in to Ecas using the receipt number ("R" followed by 9 numbers) and his personal details? So far the only unique identifier I have is my receipt number, but I haven't been able to log in with it, so I'd like to know whether it's because logging in using the receipt number no longer works, or it's just that they simply haven't opened and scanned my package yet.

If your husband CAN login using the receipt number, it means they haven't opened and scanned my package yet ( :-[ )

If your husband CAN'T login using the receipt number, it probably means logging in using the receipt number simply no longer works (or may be the Ecas issues still haven't been fixed!)

My husband's login only works with his UCI.

I can log in with the file number. I haven't tried my Client ID # yet.

Congrats on the approval! :-) it's highly unusual to be denied stage 1, and if they had doubts for anything, they would have asked for more proofs. So - both Lkrammy and you - congrats! :-)
AOR is always by email, but approval can be letter or email, but it always says "a letter has been sent to you" ( even if it's an email).

If in a week you still don't have the letter, call CIC and ask them - they should be able to tell you that you have been approved over the phone ( or in that case, your husband).

Good points Sweden! So an email is still considered a letter eh...in this modern age they should differentiate between these 2 terms (so letter = snailmail, e-mail = well...e-mail!) ;D

Something to think about: last week I tried calling the CIC to find out why I hadn't received my AOR (still haven't till now) and the agent asked my first name, surname, date of birth, place of birth, etc, and she confirmed that they hadn't processed our package yet and told me "don't worry since it can take up to 55 days"...

When she was asking the security questions, she asked for my client ID, which I didn't have. Yet she was still able to access my data......how come??! I guess the only possible explanation is because they probably have my name in their computer system, considering that I am a Canadian citizen...? (Afterall they're Citizenship and Immigration Canada! Lol! ;D)

I see! So the CIC gives us 3 kinds of unique identifiers then? UCI, client ID, and file number?

I assume the UCI belongs to both the sponsor and sponsored person? Whereas the client ID and file number: are they unique? i.e: does the sponsor have different client ID and file number from the sponsored person's?

I'm under the impression UCI and Client ID# are pretty much the same thing. One to a person. I think Client ID is the term used if you enroll through MyCIC, which I did. I didn't get a UCI.

The file number works for both people... I think...eventually. It's kinda hard for me to gauge this being new at it and Ecas not working properly. My husband can log in with the file number too. Same one.

Amikety, it's great! Sometimes I need to have it served straight up. Don't wanna be the one with the rose tinted glasses on all the time. :P

Fandv, I asked my husband M to try the receipt number. Still doesn't work. I guess we're a bit lucky he has his own UCI since he's a PR himself. Aaand, I'm lazy so it's easier for me to pester M to log in instead of me getting all the info. :p

Thanks Sweden. We didn't get any AOR and M is expecting the letter by snail mail. They didn't ask for additional anything so I am hopeful that this is approval already :)

Congrats kagi! :)

Thanks Polgas. I hope this is it!
