Starting from today I am going to look upon all of this as if it will never happen. I'm not going to feel frustrated or get upset over whatever CIC does (timelines, etc). There's no point. This is one of those things that we have no control over...

Cheers for that. Amen

Pls if one gets UCI number after the return your application because the employer did not state well the full duties, task, and periods the employee work with the company what is that UCI number mean and will it affect me if i want to return my application back after getting the right letter explanation from my employer

UCI - universal client id, that's how they find u in their system...u need to write this client id so they will easily see match the new documents with what u submitted before - once u have one that's good for all applications or document resubmissions.....but u need to ask in the skilled worker forum section too for more details, here we r family class....good luck!!

i'm happy for those that got approved, but i am so sad about us..cic recieved our application according to dhl tracking on jan 23rd and still nothing from them. i check my email and junk email folder everyday too. I called again today and they said no record of me and that they may have sent it back to me :-( that's quite impossible, i double check my photocopies everyday and we didn't miss anything...i wish if they did sent it back to me they did it weeks ago not now. i dunno what to do im just devastated...

u r closer than me ;) next week should b the news week....usually if u didn't get anything back until now i would take as good news (no package return, etc)....me too i believe that should b done at the beginning not 3 months after....i don't understand why some officers scare people talking like that, they should just say what they know 100% not make their own assumptions
don't feel like that, it does not help :( take care!

Hi, can i be added to the list.
This is my timeline

Application filed: January 11th 2012
Application recieved by Mississauga: January 17th 2012
Recieved file number and process started on: March 8th 2012
Sponsor approval on and file transfer: March 27th 2012
PPR: April 18 2012

My husband has travel history but I have attached his foreign PCC. Do you how much of a delay this might cause?

no one cant tell you exactly how long it will take for background checks. it depends on applicants travel history.
if its 1-2 years it can take 2-3 months but if its more than 2-3 years you might have to wait for 5-6 months. as you can see in new delhi thread, there are some applicants with travel history of 3-5 years and waiting for last 6-7 months. someone has 2 years travel history in UK and they got visa within 4 months of PPR.
you dont need to worry about anything because your process has been started but we are still waiting for any response from cic. Our application was received on jan 26 at Mississauga.
best of luck :)

I am the applicant and I have traveled twice to Dubai but only for two months both the times. Does that come under travel history?

It's travel history, but not for the purposes of CIC. They look for anything over 6 months, and classified as "residing"...a long holiday would not qualify. You're in the clear!

Question, when you're checking on ECAS. Are you suppose to be using the last name of the sponsor or the last name of the person you're sponsoring?

I use my husband's last name. He is the sponsor.

Congratulations!! 2 weeks time from DM1 to PPR is pretty fair timing. Not sure if it's more related to distance from Canada or how busy the Visa Office is. Sit tight and watch.
