Hi everyone, I'm sponsoring my wife who is from El Salvador. The package arrived at CIC-M on the 20'th and I'm awaiting the e-mail confirmation from them. It's driving me crazy, I'm checking my e-mail all the time! I just want to be able to see that it's in process. This is the 3'rd business day since it arrived there. How long does it normally take to get a response. I'm just impatient, hahah.

Anyways, I guess I'm in for the long wait with all of you. Thankfully I'm living with my wife in Panama, so it's probably a lot easier for me than for some others. I'm anxious to be back in Canada though.

So, anyone else on here going through the Guatemala office?

All the best and God bless all of you as you wait!

You are looking at 11/2 - 2 months to get email conf / approval conf

ok, thanks. Do I not receive an e-mail from them verifying that they have received the application though? That's the one I'm waiting for.

Hi everyone! I just mailed off our application a while ago thru Purolator Express Pack 10:30am, so the package SHOULD arrive in CPC-M at 10:30 am tomorrow. hehehe. When it does, then I officially belong here in this batch! yey! ;D

Question to those who sent their applications earlier, am I going to receive a letter or an email (or BOTH?) saying that they received my application?
How long will the email and letter arrive? Thank you everyone!

CPC-M received our app today, Jan 25. yey! now, the wait begins...

9 months would b magic timeline for me ;) some embassies have 27 months, 31 months, imagine that!!!!! so stay strong, it could be much worse :)
as for my update: i'm sick with flu, no energy to wrap up anything and hubby has looooooong working hours....so we're waiting for the weekend to be done and then send!!!!! it really depresses me to still see it around :/
good luck all!!!!!!!!!!

awww missmini, be well soon. don't worry we are all here for each other for the long wait ahead.

As I said...you are looking at atleast 11/2 to 2 months to recieve either the appln received conf email or the sponsorship approval email or both.

So chill out...Its all a part of the waiting game

The waiting list for Stage 1 just went up from 68 days to 74... But I think it's A mistake... 74 days should be 64 days... because November 22, 2011 - Today is 64... Now working on November 22, 2011.. Lucky for the November Folks.... Somebody needs to buy those guys some Espresso Coffee so they speed things up! I wanna see that number go down drastically! :) Also... this Friday Jan 27... the Visa Offices should be updated again.. it's every 3 months.. So I will be watching that like a Hawk too :)

Yeah...It went on really quick between 14 days ago and today

It was like they're doing Oct 27th date applications on Jan 11th and now today on Jan 25th, the date moved to Nov 22. Thats almost a months applications in 2 weeks.

Isn't that awesome?

Great going CIC. Please keep up this pace for at-least 1 more month (technically that's almost 2 months of applications ;D )

Hi All!

I googled forums where I could find peoples stories, in regards to PR processing times. I am so relieved to see that I am not the only one going through this process :) I applied on January 23 to Mississauga's office. I am the sponsor and my husband's application will be going to Vienna. I am SO nervous, I go online everyday to check and see if our application is in CIC's system (fully knowing it is too early :)).
I had a question about the Medical Exam...does the Consulate office call and request a medical exam? or does the person being sponsored arrange this with a designated physician in their appropriate country? Any information in regards to this topic would help! Thanks :)

Regarding your question on medical exam....Its always good and suggestible to go for the latter option rather than waiting for CIC to ask for it as it would only delay your appln by some time...

processing time update; back to 74 days, working on nov 22 apps.:-)

as per checklist you need to have a medical done with in 3 months applying.

Found the answer:

Medical Examination Instructions
Instructions on how to take the medical examination will normally be sent to you after you submit your application to the visa office.

When gather documents, I was very confused with the Medical section. I knew I read somewhere that the Visa office advises you AFTER the application is submitted. Thanks for the responses!
