heeello thank u for clarifications....although i'm still not sure since before when i was PR i was my parents' dependant (i didn't have my own immigration application).....curious to see if it will be the same id or not (although i think 90% it would b the same; too bad this was not clear enough in my mind when i filled in the payment receipt : ) i'll keep everyone posted

Yep. My sponsor was issued a client number. Once I got my AOR from my visa office, it had a different client number for me.

So I went to get the mAil before work and to my surprise my Approval letter was there, it came yesterday!

Although the processing is done in Mississauga the letter came from Ottawa. I'm only a 4 hr drive from the capital so it makes sense that the letter came that fast. As the agent on the phone said, approval date is march 21.

So even tho the agent also told I was sent an email, clearly she was misunderstood.

Happy to have something In hand!

Haha! I knew you had to be in the snail mail pile like I was! See everyone, lol there is at least one agent out there doing theings the old fashioned way so don't worry. Approval will come, just slowly..lol

Our letter of sponsorship approval arrived today, 27 March. Dated 19 March but postmarked 20 March. Nice to have something on paper.

Hi! I have a question. Canadian embassy in manila is requesting for my additional documents which is a fully completed appendix A for me and each of my family member. Here's my question : what does family member mean? Do i need to include my parents and siblings or it's just my spouse and daughter?
Help!

If you read the whole letter it should explain "family members". My letter from Manila also requested Appendix A with family members. Then it explains that family members are the spouse of applicant (if not the sponsor) and all sons and daughters of the applicant and sons and daughters of spouse. Also any grandsons and granddaughters. If your sponsor is your spouse already in Canada as citizen or as permanent resident, then it is very simple. Your family members are all your children and all your grandchildren. They want to know all your direct family which might accompany you to Canada now or in the future. Hope that helps

I received an email confirmation from Sydney VO last night, 27 March, confirming my PR application has been received by CIC... on 11 January??? Thats the date my package arrived in Mississauga.
It informs me of my UCI and application number.

Yea, mine is worded the same way. I was confused at first but I think they just put the original date the app was received by the CIC period. Grats on getting your AOR from your visa office

I called CIC again.. still nothing.. the lady confirmed that it was 100% delivered, but they haven't started it yet... I asked if I would have sent it in a Hot Pink box, if it would have been found and processed sooner.. she said she doesn't know hehe.. oh well.. I will have to wait.. this is the first person that told me that they do know they have it somewhere. I had a hair cut today.. hope I don't need another one before they process my app!

Okay, well this should be interesting. I thought the Right of Permanent Residence Fee was paid at the border when I landed, but apparently they need it to be paid before the VO can issue the ??? whatever it is that gives us residence. So I just paid the fee online and then emailed the receipt to my VO... I'm pretty sure that's not how its meant to be done, but it seems more logical to me than the method they suggest on the CIC website, so... fingers crossed.

That's funny Amanda, I too got the letter postmarked from "Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa". I wonder if that means our applications were forwarded to Ottawa or if that's just where all the letters come from.

Amazing and surprised my wife received email from Newdelhi VO asking her to send her passport for further processing...in less than 2weeks we received these. I am so much happy today...Hope everything goes well from here...

If I offend... I'm sorry, please, please forgive....I do not think it is working... just like that

It is pretty funny but from experience when calling the government or any customer service at whatever company and you select french your wait time is likely to be about half of the english side. Think about it most of canada speaks english, but they still need to give the service in french as we are a bilingual country. Food for thought!! I don't think its that crazy to think that they have agents processing the french and others processing the english apps. Just look at the timelines of some people (again not all) that sent theirs in french some in february are approved for sponsorship has anyone been approved in english? Maybe I'm wrong but i wouldn't put it pass the government to seperate it that way..

They're probably out of paper I am sure that the House Of Commons will soon decide whether or not to put more in. Crazy place that CIC.. not as smooth sailing there as you might think.
