Hi Julona1601,Julona1601 said:Hi there,
I've been following this topic for a while and finally decided to join the forum.
Sent our application on Dec 29 and it was received by cic on Jan 5. But due to insufficient fees it was returned and we reapplied on Jan. 20 ( application received on Jan 23).
We are applying from Regina, SK. Family application.

I never had eCase status before, this the first time that I have one and it says "Received".tds69us said:This is great!! your timeline gives us a lot of hope!!
what was your status before "Received"? I believe the first status is "Received", unless you mean you got access to eCAS recently?
Clear!!! Thanks!!!fwakeel said:I never had eCase status before, this the first time that I have one and it says "Received".
I do not know how it would take usually after receiving the AOR by email and to upload the information online with a "Received" status?tds69us said:Clear!!! Thanks!!!
It typically takes a couple of days to a week, but i've heard of people waiting more. I've even heard of people that never received updates until they became citizens.fwakeel said:I do not know how it would take usually after receiving the AOR by email and to upload the information online with a "Received" status?

Thanks.

I understand that once the file reaches the local office, the timeline is dependent on that office (slow or fast).hgn said:....and average time for Dec applicants is about 65.1 days....so I guess (hope) that the extra $230 does make a 20 day-ish difference
That is true, but the speed is still inconsistent and you can see that clearly with a lot of November and December candidates (even January). Until the time required to acknowledge the receipt of an application stabilizes, there is no real evidence of the effect of the $230.boltz said:I understand that once the file reaches the local office, the timeline is dependent on that office (slow or fast).
So, what about this activity (initial perusal and issuing an AOR)? Is it done by a central body (CPC Sydney or of that sort); or would it vary based on the location applied by the person?
If its the central body, and its processing the applications in the order received (with no reference to the Province/locale of the candidate) - it is a clear sign of $230-effect, I would say!!
The average time to receive AoR for Nov was 72 days, for Dec was 65 days. Jan batch so far only 2 people got their AoR's so still too early but it was 45 days that is a huge improvement just have to wait a bit for more data from Jan batch. That is true, but the speed is still inconsistent and you can see that clearly with a lot of November and December candidates (even January).
