Hi everyone,
I think I'm starting to understand the process but I would like to run our plan by you guys to make sure we haven't missed any information.
My Canadian boyfriend is going to sponsor me, Dutch, under the common-law program (we have lived together for about 2,5 years in the Netherlands). We are planning to send in our outland (Vienna office) at the end of this year. The plan is that I work in the Netherlands until March-May and then move to Canada just as a tourist. First of all, is that allowed? What do you tell customs in such a situation? Do you get a return ticket (eventhough I wouldn't use the return part)?
We are thinking of trying to start our own family before I move there. I realise I won't be covered for any of the costs but I could maybe get a private insurance for that (we are too impatient to wait until PR is approved). However, would showing up in Canada pregnant cause problems entering the country?
Regarding the health care I'll have a 3 month waiting period (I'll be landing in BC). I am assuming this starts once I get the PR, assuming I'm in Canada. Basically I'm asking what is considered landing? For example, if I arrive on a visitor "visa" or perhaps working holiday visa, could I "land", before I get PR? I assume not but just making sure.
thanks in advance
