No income required to sponsor spouse. She can sponsor you.masrani said:If my wife does not have a income can she still sponsor me? Is there any minimum income requirement?
How long does it take for the first part and the second part.
Thanks in advance.
There is no set income requirement for spousal sponsorship. That being said the sponsor has to show proof of how they will support their spouse once they land in Canada. How you will survive financially and so on. It is easy enough to show your intent by sending in a detailed employment plan. Also, with regards to housing arrangements or financial support from family. You can write a letter explaining if you have an offer from family or friends to stay with until you "get on your feet".masrani said:If my wife does not have a income can she still sponsor me? you can "choose" on the application form, but it's either your country of residence (if you have a visa for more than 1 year to that country), or your country of nationality. You can pick one of the two (if you're living in a country different than your nationality), but CIC can always decide to send it to the "other VO".masrani said:Thanks friends for a very prompt and clear reply. God bless you all..ameen. My VO would most probably be Abu dhabhi and on the site it says it takes 20 months. Is VO our choice or the department only decides?

The ability to meet the minimum income requirement is mandatory, unless the sponsor is sponsoring a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or a dependent child where the child has no dependent children of their own. This exception also applies to persons under the age of 18 whom the sponsor intends to adopt in Canada.

Bolding added by me.
nina - once again you don't know the true circumstances of the applcations you are using as an example. sponsors are NOT found ineligible because they make low/no income. There are many sponsors who do not make an income and are approved for eligibility. When CIC can prove the sponsor has used social welfare (NOT mat leave or EI) within a certain timeframe before the application, THEN the sponsorship will most likely be denied. In this situation, it's the sponsor's responsibility to prove they are off the welfare list, and they are no longer receiving social assistance. The sponsor is not required to show bank statements. The option c form will show CIC all they need to see. It has nothinng to do with how much money a sponsor makes! STOP FINDING APPLICATION ISSUES THAT HAVING NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU AND ASSUMING YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DENIED.ninakap30 said:thıs part stılls make me worrıed....ı dıdnt ınclude too a statement bank showıng ıncome from my part...but ın some cases ı saw ın the forum ı saw that the sponsor was denied because the offıcer thought that the sponsored spouse wıll not be able to support hıs/herself ın the future....maybe these are exceptıons but ı am worrıed too.....
