Is my IELTS score eligible for PR.

Hi All,

I got IELTS score of 6.0 (L=7.0, R=6.0, S=6.0 W=5.5). With this score mine total point is 68. My NOC is 0213 (IT)
Do u think that i need to retake IELTS? All are moderate level score .. no basic .. no high

Hi Prince,

As you can see by going through the posts, VO seems to be using his power of "substituted evaluation" to assess the applications now. This practice was not very common in the past. I have posted an example of substituted evaluation quoting Doorza's application.

So if you feel you are at a threshhold of the passing mark and have the opportunity to write the test again, then you should take the test again especially if your NOC is off the list.

Thanks Mitali for prompt response time to time. I read both Doorza (2*basic + 2*moderate = 6 points) and alnor (1*basic + 3*moderate = 7 points) cases. I just wanted to know is there any case where all moderate (2+2+2+2=8 points) or higher got such kind of result.

Hi Prince,

Its is better to get "the best score" possible and then send your documents. Dont worry about the April applicants....you need to make your application "Strong". At the most what will happen----your application will be assessed after a month or so but you will be safe as you will not have to worry about your score and any negative evaluation.

Its not only me who is thinking about negative evaluation, you too are thinking the same way (Quote- made me to think carefully as my NOC is out). Follow your gut instincts sometimes.

Hi Drooza,

I am really sorry for your situation.

The only option you have is to get "Best IELTS score". Focus on that first. Don't waste your precious time any more. Once you can acheive that then submit your application to VO. I am sure VO will be impressed with your good score as he will obviously see your efforts to acheive good score and you did acheive your goal. So you do have the potential. In your cover letter mention that you have got better scores from the earlier one and are continuously striving hard to better yourself and with time you will get better.

Do not make mistakes in your letter. Get it checked for grammar and spellings etc... but for now focus on the test.

I am sure you can do it.

I've applied under NOC 0213 ... My Total score was around 55 as told by my consultant when I din't took the IETLS.. as per my knowledge, I get 16 points with above bands.. is this true? Am I safe with this??

By adding 55+16 it sums up to 71.

You are safe 100% safe on IELTS score. Congrats.
If your other 55 points have no problem then you should be successful. But remember that Visa Officer has full power to make final decision.

Mitali,
Drooza overall band score is 5 points . If u get overall 5.5 points u r thru. See on trackitt.com forum many have sailed across just scoring overall 5.5 points. This is their minimum criteria. IF u score in all 4 speaking/listening/reading/ writing/ 5.5 u r thru. But if u score 5 in any u r a basic user and not moderate so chances of rejection becomes clear.

this is the fact you explained. to add more, the discussed applicant is applying under AEO . hence he need at least a score of moderate IELTS to perform all duties, and even he needs to look for job s in canada
