Possible but quite difficult (many/most employers aren't willing to go through the LMO process). However you can always try.oakley21 said:I arrived here a week ago for a vacation and Im loving the place... is there a way that I can get a job here in Canada?

Oops, there's no way that i can apply from here?job_seeker said:You'd have to send your application for the WP outside Canada though.

THanks jobseeker... then if i am fortunate enough, how do i claim the work permit from there? I do not have US visa?job_seeker said:Initial work permit should be applied for at a visa office/consulate outside Canada. You can send your application to NYC or LA consulate. Pray you're not called for interview but if you are hoping you have a US visa.

oh ok. thanks. does "flagpole"ing works for filipinos as well and how long does it take?job_seeker said:Drive to the closest border and "flagpole", meaning exit to the US side, let officer know you're picking up your WP (you'll get an administrative refusal), enter Canadian side (tell officer you're picking up your WP). Show your letter from the Canadian consulate and your passport with the TRV-W.
Is flagpoling works all the time? Or there's any chance that there's refusal (to issue work permit) at the border?job_seeker said:Drive to the closest border and "flagpole", meaning exit to the US side, let officer know you're picking up your WP (you'll get an administrative refusal), enter Canadian side (tell officer you're picking up your WP). Won't work. The OP requires a medical.job_seeker said:Drive to the closest border and "flagpole", meaning exit to the US side, let officer know you're picking up your WP (you'll get an administrative refusal), enter Canadian side (tell officer you're picking up your WP). So there's no other way but to go out of Canada, go back to Philippines and apply from there?PMM said:Hi
