Is distance education valid for canada immigration?

Hi,

I did Bachelor Of Computer Application (BCA) from EIILM university Sikkim. And I am planning to forward my documents, but some of my friends told that Distance Education will not get any points, Is it True?
If anyone has gone through with same query kindly help me.

Hi Chaya need ur urgent help. i also did my MBA from Eiilm university . just want to know whether u got ur credential assessment or not if yes, and do WES Recognised ur BCA as equivalent to Bachelors . i am also planning to get my masters assessed, if u could help

I believe distance education is acceptable by WES as long as the body conducting such education is registered by UGC.

Obviously this is just a logic I am going by and I cannot provide you with a source confirming the above fact.

The other way is to get your credentials evaluated by WES and find it out yourself.

Distance Education Institutions approved by UGC, DEB & AICTE are accepted for Credential Evaluation and you will get the same points as people who have done full time degree. Please check with WES by using the free tool on WES Website. Please note not all Degrees are available for the free evaluation and if you dont find your University and its approved by UGC or AICTE you can email WES for further details.
IGNOU/Sikkim Manipal University are readily accepted

Hello Guys from EIILM University,

Distance Education Council (DEC) has cancelled the recognition for some of the universities in India in which EIILM University is there, as per my knowledge if u Apply with expired university degrees u could get rejection (one of my friend got rejected even after positive ECA from WES).
