Did anyone try to contact IRCC by phone recently using this number +1 (888) 242-2100? If yes, were you able to talk to an agent? It’s been a few days that I receive the message that the call center agents are taking calls Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm local time although I’m calling during work hours. Anyone has the same issue?

What's the problem you're facing? It is fairly time consuming to connect to an agent if my PR experience is anything to go by. You're lucky to get in the queue and even then the wait can easily be 1 hour or more.

I’m trying to change my email address. I used the webform many times but didn’t receive any email on my new one. Unfortunately, I lost access to my email linked to my application

Are you connecting to the machine and in the end after hearing the machine message till the end the call ends because of high volume of callers?

If so, then keep trying until you make the queue. You might have to try 6 or 7 times.

I’m not getting a message telling me “we’re getting a high volume of calls and not able to transfer your call” but getting that weird message saying that the call center is closed. I’m calling from outside Canada using my Canadian number

Weird. If i remember correctly you have to do something else to call from outside Canada.

An old post from another poster that you might find helpul

Yesterday I managed to speak with an agent and was told my criminality check was in progress!
I managed this feat after calling CIC for past full week at different times and numbers and methods.

How you ask?
1. Install Hangout Dialer (yes, its free! no need for paying a paisa!) plus you need a cup of coffee!
2. Pick a good time of the night. I managed to get a call through at 10.30 PM Indian Std. Time (12 noon in Ottawa)
3. I dialed +1 613-944-4000. (Yes, with that small '+')
4. I followed the instruction as it is. The options are pretty logical.
5. First I took all the options till the automated voice read out my current status which is already visible in my status page.
6. After this got over, they asked if I want to speak with an agent! '... please press zero, if you want to talk to our agent...'
7. YES!
8. They told me a few times that the volume of calls was huge.
9. Repeated steps 3 to 8 till I was put in a queue!
10. Sipped on the coffee because I was in good 38 min long queue! with some airplane like music playing. This is why you have coffee!
11. Viola! A human voice (with French accent though) very kindly asked me my Reg num, Client num, DOB and last name.
12. Fell asleep, even after drinking coffee, with peace of mind and smile on my face!!

Hi! did you manage to change your email address? Even I didn't receive a response for the web form which I raised almost 2 months before.

Hello,

Any luck to reach IRCC, it's been weeks and i cannot reach to any agent. Always call ends because of high volume....

try at the right time. Usually around 6 PM Toronto time is good. Morning times are bad. Keep trying from 6 PM onwards until 7 PM Toronto time and you should be able to break through. Might need 6 or 7 attempts. Could also be in a couple attempts. You will have to try though

Yes, I tried calling +1 (888) 242-2100 recently and experienced the same issue. Despite calling during work hours, I received the message saying that agents are only available Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM local time. It seems to be a common issue.
