Hi everyone,

I had initially applied for my wife's PR under the spousal sponsorship program in Sept 2023. My application got returned unfortunately on Oct 18th, and I resubmitted Oct 19 with the info that was required. I got an email today (Nov 28) from IRCC stating that IRCC needs more information to process my application. However, this time they have generated a UCI and application number. They have also not mentioned that my application is being returned, and the status in the PR portal is still 'submitted'. Moreover, the letter mentioned that I can also track the status of they application with the UCI. There is also a date by which I need to submitted the details required, which was not there the last time around

My questions are:
1. Can I use this UCI to apply for my wife's OWP?
2. If my application is not returned, but it doesn't say that it is process either, does it mean it's on hold until I provide the information? It's a long process to get the AOR, will I still be in that queue?

I've been under a lot of stress lately because of this, any information/clarifications are welcome. Thanks so very much in advance!

I believe if the application number begins with an F - not an X - it is not temporary and is considered submitted and 'accepted' in AOR sense. UCI number - if for the applicant not sponsor - supports that.

Not a guarantee but I think you should be able to submit the OWP application.

I can’t answer all the questions you asked but I do know that once you resubmit you’re no longer in the queue, I had my application returned too, and this was one of my concerns as well.

Thanks so much for your response! Yes the spousal PR application number starts with an F. Additionally, like you said, the letter also states that the UCI generated is for the principal applicant, not the sponsor.

I have another quick question, and I apologize for all the questions - but the letter states that I have 2 ways of submitting the required documentation - via the IRCC secure website, or the IRCC webform. I have an account with the IRCC Secure website, do I need to link my application and then upload the required items?

Thanks!

Don't know but sounds logical.

Why can’t you just respond to the ADR immediately and your sponsor would receive the AOR 3 days after that . It happened to me before also , respond to the additional request through webform and after 3days the sponsor would receive the AOR that you needed for the OWP.

You don't have to link if you don't want. Although people say the GC Key has sometimes better info than the PR Tracker, or they "complement" each other. As long as you, as stated in the letter, inform the UCI and the application number. "Any documentation or correspondence you send should include your UCI and Application number as indicated at the top of this letter."

Thanks yes I was about to submit the updated forms - some minor details were missing, but I recieved the AOR this morning with a different UCI number. I am going to submit the forms, but not quite certain why the AOR was sent out before I uploaded the forms

Yes thanks, I was not allowed to link up my applications. I'll just use the webform!

This is a "request for additional information" - The agent deemed your application complete enough (since it appears only minor details were missing) and just requested you to provide the missing info before starting processing your application proper. You definitively don't want to wait to submit the info as processing won't start until you do, but your application won't be returned either.

Also, the UCI in the AOR is the Sponsor's UCI, so it is normal that it's a different one. You should use the UCI in the ADR letter to link the application to an account.

AOR is the one that you need to provide as a proof when applying for OWP for your wife, if you don't have AOR I would suggest you first apply for visa extension and when you get the AOR for the PR application you can then apply for OWP

I applied for a spouse sponsorship overseas on December 01, 2023; after submitting my application to the online PR portal, I downloaded it and realized I made two stupid mistakes on two forms. I am the principal applicant.
The first one is that I forgot to enter my father's place of birth in imm5406 and left it blank; the second one is in imm5669; I forgot to type "None " in military service. I do have a UCI number from my previous application. Should I send the Webform and explain all these mistakes before they open my application? In the imm5533 form, I mentioned I did not serve military service, and in imm5669, I entered my father's place of birth correctly; the officer will look at those and issue AOR or return my application as incomplete.
I appreciate your help on this matter.

Any threads you've missed asking the exact same question?

Common sense - post once, wait a bit. Be courteous.
