majority of international student are working in better positions than "FSW " i know and have seen lots highly educated people from different parts of world driving taxi, working as security guards and what not, whereas international students most of the time work in big companies and firms, 1 year canadian diploma has edge in canada at least over 4 years degree anywhere in the world.
and it could be applied anywhere in the world
That's correct!
I am finishing my 3rd degree and right now I don't reach more than 441 points because of my age! :( No, I had no money to study abroad when I was in my 20s.
Getting a professional job right away after graduation will be tough because of the economic crisis.
OINP and SINP is my way to go!
PS: I may not be Canadian on paper but I consider this country my home. It's where I belong to. I love the mountains, wings on Wednesdays, love hockey, love the way Canadians focus on practical matters and are drama free. Love Canada! I really do!

That is so incorrect, In their political campaign they gave a list of 10 important things, In which refugee system and some others were on the top and international student issue was 7 or 8th.
That was set on priority, refugee system is def a priority they are living in fear and they need to be rescued over people who are already living in Canada a comfortable life.
World was not made in one day, things take time. Conservatives created a mess for immigrants atleast liberals are fixing them, one at a time. Just be patient things are changing.

bring refugees was never suppose to be number 1 change to immigration plans, it all start with that syrian kid pic who drowned and died while escaping from syria to canada with his family, that pic was all over social media, of course was very very sad to see a dead body of kid on the beach , that was the time when justin trudeau told he is gonna bring in 25000 refugees if he wins the election, and he in fact fulfilled his commitment but it was never the original plan to be included in annual immigration system. but they did it because they were getting political hype.
and moreover if un and canada really care about people why do settle these refugees in african continent its completely empty and it can accomodate millions of people and weather there is also much better and similar to middle east

Dude you are so ridiculous that i dont even want to say anything anymore. good luck with your application. but i feel sorry for self centered people liek you. who think their fancy issues are more important than other people lives. i will not waste my time on someone who is soo engrossed in his own troubles that doesn't even see the world around him.

Good luck and have a nice life.

Please try to be less aggressive. She is showing her opinion, you are showing yours.
Coming to Canada means you need to adapt to the mindset of this country. Aggressiveness is not the way to go! :D

Privilege to become NEW IMMIGRANT, then yes. It is a privilege. But I am talking about other issue. It is ok to speak up as int. students for changes we want to see. Believe me! I have seen it so many times in London !

i am not trying to be ridiculous, and i don't intend to disrespect you or anybody on this forum, but i really feel bad all international students and the way they are treated in immigration system since the launch of express entry almost every international student are pushed back of the line with the current system.
you have to analyse the situation first, international students are also human beings and the who have already started first step towards better future should not be treated like this,
whereas refugees just want to save their life which can be done by giving them houses or accommodation and jobs in any part of the worlds which is safe for human beings, canada is not only option for refugees whereas it is for most canadian graduates, you can take a well settled life from international students and force them to begin everything again from 0. thats what i call inhuman and ridiculous.

torturing for you maybe is only physical torturing, but there is a mental torture too, which most of the international students face, torture of losing their job and well settled life just because they are pushed back down on immigration priority list. i am gonna always support international no matter what, because i have seen everything very closely

Hey guys, did you notice that you contradict yourselves? You say that international students get better job than FSW newcomers, but then you say that it's impossible to get NOC-0,A,B job for a student due to the crisis, thus it's hard to get necessary experience.

Am I the only one who see a contradiction here?

I am talking about my situation in Alberta. No contradiction.
Maybe int students get better jobs (when there is no downturn in the economy) because we adapt better to the country. Networking, etc.
BTW, let's have wings if you are in Alberta and let's discuss it further.
I Have to go now.

Not really but it is a touchy topic.

Most people 'know' that immigration is not a right but they 'feel' differently about it having been in Canada for a while and having established their lives here. They 'know' that the system never promised them anything beyond an education and a competitive shot at joining the workforce but they 'feel' aggrieved with the same system not going an extra mile to cater specifically to their interests. They 'know' that the system would change when it wants to and that they have limited utility as a political constituency but they 'feel' that their voices may make a difference especially because immigration regulation is both a political and an economic decision and it makes better economic sense to retain at least some taxpayers inside the country rather than opening doors for some other foreigners to come in and hang around on welfare. So it is a bit of a tussle between what one 'knows' and how one 'feels'. Never going to be a common ground here.

African Continent is not empty. Human species started in Africa and they are trying to immigrate FROM everyday since.

Anyway, It is fair that Elected Canadian Government chooses what they think is best for Canada.

Looking at the silver lining here , the rules are atleast easier than other countries like USA and UK ... Atleast we have right to work legally after graduating .... which amounts to building up a decent score. Onlypeople royally screwed over are PhD candidates like me who not only study for 6 years with limited scholarship opportunities and then need to wait longer to gain the requisite work experience

You can try it. But If you started to work on march 2015, that is fine. But if you say you started to work on April 2015, You won't be eligible.
