Thanks Robrod and Kiwikris for the replies! And congrats for you Kiwikris, sure you will find a job in no time. I`m from Hungary which is visa extempt, so that`s one good point. My local office might be Edmonton, however I`m not really sure. I called the embassy today in Ottawa and they told I could get a year extention from them. That`s what they are allowed to do at the moment if someone really needs it and they might get the necessary background to issue passport next year. I`ve heard a lot of maybe already, so I`m going to wait until april-may to get the extention- it might be enough until my case will be finalized. I`m just hoping that CIC won`t question me what kind of a passport do I have that is valid only for a year.:) Trust me, I don`t want to travel to Europe. I have a 5 month old baby, it would be too much for him and I would never leave Canada without him and husband, I would be way too scared not to make it back. Best luck for you in the final!

Thanks annabruce and ditta heres hoping you have smooth sailing with your processes. :)

Greece sounds like an amazing place to have a honeymoon! We are planning to get married in NZ and see family in Australia so that will be our Honymoon I guess. I have travelled to a few places but my CLH has not at all so definitely keen to explore the world more together. :D Definitely have to not break your leg going skiing as having both broken would not be fun hehehehe

Didn't get to OHIP today(havve a good excuse...we went to look at rings!) but will go tomorrow and see about the wait time. I had to wait 3 months from when my NZWHP started so I am thinking it will be the same.

Bon chance!

You`re right Mimi, it`s 26-06-10. :) I was thinking about sending more info in...after I sent my original application. I`ve attached photos, description of how we met, from when we are living together, leases, my son`s certificate, etc. I could send more in but I kinda thought I can still gather more things for an interview. My family was here with us in august for 3 weeks and we were visiting my husband`s family in sept. that could be further proof. We have a house, but my husband could be on the mortgage only even if we pay together, same thing with the car. Fingers crossed that you get good news soon!

Good morning, inlanders!...
Needed to take a break yesterday's evening and my wife nicely allowed me to do so by looking after our baby girl so that I could go to the movies and put my mind elsewhere at least for the rest of the day which was nice to do... I did think of all of us and our applications and this enduring process while I was driving on my way over. Great couple of good movies plus dinner, I saw "Red" which has a fabulous casting and "Paranormal Activity 2" which like part 1, is scary...

Kris and Mimi: your status will change to Decision Made in about a month's time. Then after an additional 2-3 weeks, you will receive the Decision Made letter in the mail. When you are given AIP straight up, there's a 98% probability of getting PR. That's according to a lawyer a friend consulted with and I've seen it here on the forum. All of those AIPs got PRs.
Like I said, the first change will be in your status. Then the letter will follow. The letter will say that your application has been finalized and that your local office will contact you (by letter too) with your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (or landing) appointment. I have posted here in previous pages the content of both the Decision Made and the COPR appointment letters... Look them up.

Ditta: Great to know that you called your embassy in Ottawa and that they can issue an extension of your passport so that you don't have to go back to your home country. That does save time, money and the hassle of traveling with a baby. My wife has traveled with the baby 3 times already and she managed just fine, though... It will be my turn to travel with the baby (she's almost a year old now) back to Mexico hopefully for just after New Year's day for a visit after year and a half of being away while on this inland process.

Everyone else: good luck with those letters!. It might be quiet now until next week regarding that mail delivery. On the mean time, peace and try to get your minds off the process.

Rob.

Thanks Mimi for the suggestion. I will send them more photos as me met each other`s family later than the application was sent, my husband`s will, more bills, a long letter from me to desribe our relationship from the very beginning and my stay in Canada, our first correspondance however it was not romantic at that time. That should be enough, I don`t have anything else in mind right now.

Afternoon everyone, well I hope this gives you a giggle. I just discovered today by looking at my first work permit and the new one that I had my client ID number the whole time!!! So I have had it since last year but only just found out today. :) Man, feeling a bit silly right about now! :p So for anyone who has any kind of permit already you may have a client ID to use! hahahaha oh dear :)

Went and re-newed SIN and was very easy , just spoke to the guy at the front counter and he did it there and then. Had to fill in a form with my parents names and my contact information and didn't cost anything. Very unlike the first time where I had to wait for about an hour to see someone and go into one of the offices at the back! Now I just wait for a new one that will be sent in the mail and he took my old one. I will have to go back in once I get PR as the number will change.

Now with OHIP I already had it and it was just being re-newed so I don't have to wait the 3 months again as I already waited on the first work permit and just filled in the form and wait for that to be sent out as well. No need to notify them when I get PR...(fingers crossed!) :) Both accomplished with less hassle than what I thought. :)

Rob- I do so hope you are right about our wait time for the next step, you have been pretty good at predicting everything else so far! :) I found your other posts and read what was we are to expect in the next letter, have already stashed the landing fee so I can be ready. :) Glad you had a good time at the movies sometimes you just need to get out and about for a bit to get refreshed.

Wishing luck to all :)

Great to know it went quite well on both your errands today, Kris!.

I got the Health Card accomplished in 2 trips same day... monster line first trip but when I went back, I was instructed to by-pass everybody and went to the front of the line... My trip to the SIN office was accomplished in one try only on the same day I did the Health Card, but I did have to go to the back (in fact here in Toronto everybody must go to the back and get interviewed)... Both cards have an expiry, my SIN one is already expired and I was instructed on my COPR letter to bring it with me so that I can have it exchanged right there and then with a real one (one that starts not with a 9)...

Not that I'm a magician or anything, I just read what fellow inlanders write about their cases and then I know where they stand... benefit of almost completing the whole process myself...

We want to also go to Peru. Most likely this will be our first trip together as a family. 2 adults and 2 babies!!!... not sure how we will manage but looking forward to that!!!... Might not happen because of the altitude and babies, in my opinion.. so, most likely is a fantasy of ours at this point in our lives...

WAHOO!!!

Just called CIC this morning and actually got a nice agent (lol shocker there sometimes).
Anyway, she informed me that they started processing our application on SEPTEMBER 22, 2010.
Seems like they are taking less and less time to start processing from the time it is received now which is good news for new inland applicants. Now if we could just get the main processing times to go down. Well one hurdle at a time right.

So I just thought everyone that is wanting to hear when theirs start processing, our app started processing 2 months and 6 days after being received. I know this is a small update but I am on top of the world right now. :p
Hi Love_Young,

they received my application on August 3rd, 2010, but I know that only because I sent the envelop with signature request for receiving.

I tried calling CIC and to check what the automated service tells me, but the first thing they ask for to identify is the Client-ID. My boyfriend/common-law partner is Canadian and doesn't have a Client-ID. So how can I be able to receive any information in regards to our application?

I tried my Client-ID but no result.

It's now 2 months and 23 days. We haven't heard or received anything.

Thanks in advance!
