Asta, where did you see that 'for inland u have to stay with ur sponsor during the process of application." Was it one of the conditions? I never saw it anywhere in the sponsorship guidelines...can you please direct me to the link?

what i meant is u have to stay in Canada, if u are the one being sponsored. sponsor can travel abroad if he needs to.
sorry if i wrote it wrong.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp

"This application is for spouses or common-law partners of Canadian citizens or permanent residents who wish to apply for permanent residence while both the sponsor and the applicant are residing in Canada."

Thanks Asta.

1) I called the immigration call center before making my application and was told that if i apply for Change of conditions along with PR application then i don't have to extend my visa status as that application covers it.

2) Can you please explain why my visit visa is canceled? i didn't over stay and its still valid till October 2010. Is it canceled because i applied for inland PR application?

3) Can i cancel my inland PR application through sending a letter and with a good explanation and apply from London England.?

Many thanks

This is a toll-free number, you should be able to dial this from any fix telephone. Why are you using skype to call? I think it's because skpye doesn't support this kind of numbers?

Folks! Just wanna share my amazing news! :D Got my AIP today together with open work permit. Such a relief. I was so worried that something happened to my file. I wasn't be able to log into ECAS for all six months, no news from CIC since the day I mailed my application from Vancouver to Vegreville - October 1st 2009. I finally built a nerve today to call them and ask what is going on with my file. The CIC told me that it was all 'clean' and I will be "landed" in couple months, although when I asked why I heard nothing from them all these months. They said it happens sometimes, that they do not update ECAS. Oh, well it doesn't matter, I am just happy.

I wish you all patience! The good news will reach all of us!

Keep the faith!

P.S. Asta, is kurio krasto pati esi?

Asta, hopefully you should be able to log into e-CAS any day now. Any news on that? Also, didn't you have a visitor extension with your app? You should be getting that soon, too, if you did.

I suppose this is where I should post my own little story.

I am 20 years old and my boyfriend is 22. He is from Quebec and I was born in the USA but flew over from the UK to Canada because I'm a dual citizen with the US and UK. (Which I think is pretty nifty)
I met him back in 2008 talking on the internet. Well, a lot more than talking. We met on an online game called World of Warcraft. Not sure if any of you have heard of it, but it's a computer game where you play online with millions of other players. I think it would be a place where it would be in the norm to find someone. The game consist of going on missions with friends and interacting with one another via chat and talking with software called Ventrilo. I met him online on Ventrilo and fell in love with his french accent the moment he said hello. I dont really remember when I started talking to him online. But I think it was around March. It was not long until I began talking to him outside of the game via MSN and talking alone in Ventrilo.
Before I know it, I'm booking a flight to see him for June! I'm not sure, but now that I look back on it, it seems like a bit short for an internet realtionship. I booked the flight for 1 month just to see him. Back then I was only 18, but..Well, I have a hard head. I didnt even bother looking into immigration things. My mother supported me 100% though. She only wanted to see me happy. And with that, I flew over to meet him.
He didnt tell me he was going to bring his whole family to meet me! But it was great! They all welcomed me with open arms and welcomed me into their home.

I was there for a full month..and then decided to stay for the whole 6 months. So I filed for my extension. And wow, I got refused the first time around! Luckily though, my passport visa didnt run out so I filed for a 2nd one, making sure I used more detail. 2nd time around, I was accepted!
Ever since that little scare, I've been very precise about my extensions. So far ive failed for abour 3-4 extensions and I am still here in Canada legally. I've been here for almost 2 year this coming June and were about to file for the Common-Law very soon! I told you our history because I do have some questions.

1. I am a dual citizen of the USA and the UK, does this give me a slight advantage in being approved? (probably not, but it never hurts to ask, ey?)

2. I turned 18 in the UK, so I know I gotta submit a UK police certificate. However, there is a page on the CIC website where I dont have to send UK the paperwork just yet. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5289E13.asp
If anyone knows any info on that, please let me know!

3. me and my BF have made a joint bank account and have many reciepts, photos of me and him, me and him with his family and cards from my mother and sister to one another. I feel like I should have more paper trails from before I came into Canada. Seeing as we only knew eachother for 3 months, we dont have much of any kind of e-mails or conversations kept in a database. If this a major issue?

1. No.

2. Follow the instructions - it says you don't need UK certificates up front, so no need to send them. You could order them later, in case they are requested, but they won't be accepted if they're over 3 months old, so better to just wait and send it if they ask for it.

3. If you don't have much from earlier, that's ok, as long as you have plenty of proof that shows your relationship now is genuine, continuing, and (since you're applying as common law) you can prove you've been living together for over a year when you apply. See OP2 5.26 and 5.35 for examples of the types of evidence they're looking for:

Juding from all that, it looks like I have a pretty cut and dry case. I'm going in for a medical on Friday, hopefully they dont find anything that even I dont know about. I do have a question about the medical though. I was born with a cataract in my right eye. When I was about 11, they removed it and replaced it with a lens, however, my eye is still very blurry and I dont have good vision. But the medical issue with that has been resolved. Will this effect me in my immigration?
